The Pure Luxe team had another stunning wedding at Lowndes Grove November 8th, celebrating the union of Jamie and Pete. Before vows were said, the soon-to-be bride and groom had their first look with their three Labradors in front of the plantation house. The ceremony was held on the front lawn underneath the trees, looking out over the Ashley River. This picture perfect couple tied the knot in front of friends and family with a classic reception to follow.
After saying their nuptials, Jamie and Pete joined their guests for cocktail hour. Tables by the river and a lounge area next to the tent were lit with café lighting, music by Classical Charleston drifting over the tables, creating a relaxing and elegant mood. Candles lined the walkways and brick walls surrounding the reception area and were a lovely backdrop as the sun went down. Wildflowers arranged beautiful centerpieces of white hydrangea and pink roses and peonies. The newlyweds shared their first dance to “Better Together” by Jack Johnson, followed by a few, sweet words by the bride’s parents, maid of honor, and best man.
Inside the plantation house, stations opened and dinner was served. The evening meal included a pasta station, shrimp and grits, and short ribs with mashed potatoes, by Patrick Properties. The aroma of the cuisine wafted throughout the house as guests mingled indoors and out, enjoying this enticing meal and picking up thoughtful favors of homemade apple butter and blackberry preserves made by the mothers’ of the newlyweds. Soon after, the divine carrot cake made by the Mother of the Bride was cut.
The groom and guests were in for a surprise when it came time to toss the bouquet and garter. The bouquet toss went smoothly, but as it came time for the garter, the bride had a little something up her sleeve, or should we say skirt. When Pete reached for the garter, he realized it wasn’t just a garter but a Smirnoff Ice. After being properly “iced” by his fun-loving bride and tossing the garter, Pete and Jamie joined their guests for a night of dancing to the sounds of the Charleston Groove Factory.
Before the night was over, guests lined the walkway to the dock with sparklers to say a proper farewell to the couple. Jamie and Pete waved goodbye and hopped onto their water chariot provided by Charleston Water Taxi to cruise off down the Ashley River.
Pure Luxe Bride loved planning and designing this Lowndes Grove wedding.
