Hey y’all! I’m back with one last post on what we’ve been up to and the final stages of wedding planning. It’s bittersweet typing this since I know the weekend will soon be here and it will go by so quickly! I am going to try to take it all in and really enjoy every single little moment.
Whew, the last few months have been a whirlwind! Piece of advice, try to do things ahead of schedule if you can, so it doesn’t all build up at the very end. I feel like that is why brides feel so stressed the month of their wedding, because all of the little things add up right at the end. I have been trying to do things in stages, so it doesn’t feel so overwhelming. This is also true for purchasing details, I tried to space these out as well.
-Design Meeting: Loved picking out all of the beautiful linens, florals, and rentals! I’ve been dreaming of the design since the day we got engaged and can’t wait to see it all come to life! Finally got to put my wedding day Pinterest board to good use :)
-Send out Invitations: This was one of my favorite parts of the wedding planning process! I worked closely with our vendor to create a custom invitation suite, and I just love the way it all turned out! Stuffing and stamping these made everything feel so real!
-Hair/makeup trial: It was so fun to feel like a bride and get pampered! It is so important to do a trial, so you can make sure it is perfect. Tip: If you can, do the trial closer to the wedding day, so your hair will be the length and color you expect it to be on the wedding day.
-I have to admit, that even as a wedding planner, I’ve had wedding nightmares too! Its a real thing! In times like these, I just remember this quote: “A wedding is a party, not a performance. If at the end of the day, you are married to the one you love, then everything went perfectly.”
-Checklist: I am a type-A list maker, and having a checklist to refer to, has been a huge help and kept me on track!
-Finalize guest count and details for rehearsal dinner and wedding day. Mark your RSVP date early, since you will have to contact MIA guests to get their RSVP’s.
Here is what I have planned for the final week in preparation:
-Get a massage
-Getting my teeth cleaned (lol)
-Get a mani/pedi
-Eat, drink, and get married!!! Eeek!
Final piece of advice, enjoy the process and don’t get stressed out by the little things, I know easier said than done! If I was having a hard time making a decision, I would present two options, and let the groom pick :)
