Planning Tip Tuesday: Dress Shopping

Dress shopping is a day that is highly anticipated, and we are here to offer some tips to help the day run smoothly! Every girl dreams of the day she finds THE dress, and we want to help make it a day you will never forget!

-Research: Just like any big purchase, do some research to get an overall idea of the style of dress you are drawn to and the designers you like, this will help you choose which bridal shops to go to.

-Try on something out of your comfort zone: We all go into the day with a vision of what dress we think we will like, but try on something totally different, it may end up being the dress you pick! It could also be fun to have someone in your group pick out a dress for you to try!

-Sizes: Wedding dress sizes are totally different from everyday shopping, so don't get hung up on the number. You are going to be trying on sample sizes, so try to look past the clips and see the overall picture.

-Choose your group wisely: This is such a special day, and while you may want the whole bridal party there with you, try to limit the size of your group so there aren't too many opinions.

-Go into they day with an open mind! Try on different shapes and silhouettes because they all look different on your body than on the mannequin.

-Budget: set a budget for the dress before you go shopping, so you are only trying on dresses that are in your price range.

-Consider venue and time of year:  If you are getting married at a plantation in the summer then keep that in mind when picking out your dress. You don't want a huge train that is going to be heavy and hard to maneuver throughout the venue!

-If you are going to multiple dress stores in one day, be mindful of your appointment times so you don't feel rushed, and make sure to pack snacks!
