Legare-Waring House Wedding: Liz + Kenny

Liz + Kenny's Legare-Waring House wedding was a detailed dream come true for these two LA love birds. Liz and Kenny met via mutual friends in 2011, on the same day her school, UNC, defeated his alma mater, UW, in a heartbreaker game during the March Madness Basketball Tournament. Luckily, she was able to mend his heart over cheap Chinese food and they’ve been together ever since. As a contributor to multiple wedding magazines, Liz had seen it all. She wanted a wedding that truly stood out from the crowd, and wowed her LA guests. Liz loved the idea of a bright and colorful wedding inspired by vibrant fall hues that accented the gorgeous property of the historical Legare Waring House. She had a clear vision for a whimsical wedding with beautiful wildflowers accented with watercolors. Wildflowers ran the lengths of the tables and tall pillar candles were scattered throughout to create a beautiful glow. Everyone could tell where the bride + groom were sitting, with vintage green arm chairs from 428 Main, gold chargers, and floral napkins saving their seats.   As the ceremony began, guests were able to see the stunning bridesmaids in their mismatched neutral gowns that complemented each maid perfectly. Of course, we can't forget the boys! Navy suits made a huge impact against all of the greenery and Kenny stood out with his unique Charleston favorite-Brackish bow tie. All heads turned, as Liz began down the aisle in her Jenny Packham dress. Her father walked with her down the colorfully petaled aisle, and she met Kenny underneath an arbor of wildflowers. After this sweet couple read their vows and did the traditional Jewish breaking of the glass, it was time to celebrate! Liz + Kenny met their other true love at the end of the aisle for some pictures, and their dog Whiskey, could not have been more excited for his parents.  Guests enjoyed small bites and cool cocktails with floral printed straws during this beautiful October night. After everyone had said a few sweet words, it was time for these guests to get a taste of some southern cooking. Salthouse catering provided a delicious station of country fried chicken and mac & cheese. For those foodies in the group, guests also enjoyed grilled fish tacos and a gorgeous best of season display. Liz added a special detail by getting her bar signs, station signs, and hashtag signs hand calligraphied on water color printed paper to match her invitation suite. Once dancing began, Liz changed from her simple flower crown into her "party crown."  Big and bold blooms let the crowd know that it was time to put on their dancing shoes!  Of course the night wouldn't have been complete without celebrating the tradition of the Jewish hoorah! Liz + Kenny departed with their guests to keep the party going in downtown Charleston!

Magnolia Plantation Wedding: Anita + Shawn

Anita and Shawn came all the way from New Jersey to have their destination wedding at Magnolia Plantation Carriage House. This couple traveled the world together, got engaged in Africa, and decided to say their "I Do's" in Charleston, SC. Their ceremony was held in front of the oak tree overlooking the Ashley river. PEW's provided vintage church pews for their guests seating with picture frames lining the aisle of the bride + groom as babies growing into their adult life. The bridesmaids looked stylish in their floral printed dressed with astilbe bouquets, we love the print in their outfits! The Carriage House was draped in soft ivory accented with pearls for a feminine touch. Bright blooms filled the table tops in hues of blush, mint, peach, and turquoise. Wooden centerpieces were filled with ranunculus,  hydrangeas, peach lisianthus, coral ranunculus and mint succulents. Mosaic Catering provided delicious eats and fun specialty cocktails for cocktail hour and the reception! The Little White Box, a 1974 Vintage Volkswagen bus, is a traveling photobooth that arrived later in the night for guests to enjoy! See all of the amazing photos captured by Monika Gauthier Photography!

Magnolia Plantation Wedding: Carissa + Tom

The rainy spring weather didn't stop Carissa and Tom's day from being anything but perfect. This sweet couple hailed from Canada and chose Charleston for a small affair with their closest friends and family. We loved designing this intimate garden style wedding at the Magnolia Plantation Veranda. The lush florals by Branch Design Studio made a dreary day pop! The couple did their first look at Zero George Street which made for the prefect setting with sunlight shining through the window panes. The color palette for the decor was a mixture of pastels-  blush, peach, robin egg blue and spring greens with a touch of gold. The table tops were set with floral vignettes of peonies, garden roses, sweet peas, and light blue delphinium. The head table had a beautiful floral table runner, the vintage charger and gold rimmed glassware were the perfect touch. The Magnolia Veranda provided the perfect backdrop with its large mossy oak trees creating an unspoken breathtaking charm.

Boone Hall Plantation Wedding: Liz + Greg

The rain did not stop Liz + Greg's wedding at Boone Hall Plantation from being anything short of perfect. The bright and cheery-colored flowers throughout the Cotton Dock gave an extra pop of color to this rustic space. Two mason jar chandeliers hung between the main doorways and were complimented by gorgeous light pink and yellow peonies along with candles to complete this southern romantic look. Liz + Greg's head table was lined with a detailed floral runner, along with cotton strings draped along the wall behind them.

The bride + groom began their festivities by having their "first look" beneath a tall, Southern Oak. Despite the heat, the guests arrived to Boone Hall and were greeted with adorably petite paper fans as they took their seats for the ceremony overlooking the water. liz greg boone hall wedding web -0378Liz PRebish and Greg Zinsmeister's wedding at Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasantly complimented by light yellow, pink, and warm gray accent pieces, Liz + Greg said their "I do's" on the Cotton Dock at Boone Hall Plantation, with an absolutely stunning marsh backdrop.

Following the ceremony, the guests enjoyed a fabulous cocktail hour in front of the classic home, which was accompanied by large Oaks and an array of flowers in bloom. Once Cocktail Hour was over, guests headed back to the Cotton Dock for dinner, where Liz + Greg were introduced for their first dance as husband and wife. The sweets table had everyone's mouth watering, complete with peach toppers on their cake and mini desserts by Wild Flour Pastry's.

William Aiken House Wedding: Zoe + JP

We absolutely loved Zoe + JP's romantic glam wedding at the William Aiken House in downtown Charleston! Their design included textured silver linens, a white tent complete with silver swagged drape, and accents of chandeliers throughout, giving the space a romantic feel.  The lounge area was complete with ivory studded couches and silver accent pillows. Upstairs, the tables were fully set for the stationed dinner with a light pink menu card atop a silver napkin, tying in the color scheme throughout the space. The bride carried a lush bouquet of peonies, garden roses, dusty miller, and white sweet peas. During this sweet couple's first look, the groom's mouth dropped wide open when he saw his bride for the first time. We loved all of their first look shots! The ceremony took place under the pergola on the lawn, with a chandelier hanging over Zoe + JP as they said their vows. The couple's two dogs joined the wedding party on their walk down the aisle, adorned with bowties and flower wreaths around their necks. After cocktail hour, there were many happy tears as Zoe and her father danced to "Gracie Girl" by Ben Folds Five.  DJ Wade kept the crowd (especially the bride + groom) on the dance floor all night long with his upbeat jams. At the end of the night, the newlyweds exited under a picturesque sparkler archway onto King Street. Thank you so much to Hyer Images for capturing these amazing shots!

Lowndes Grove Plantation Wedding: Christine + Drew

This “Lilly” inspired wedding at Lowndes Grove Plantation could not have been any more perfect for  this beautiful July day! The decor was bold and bright; the hot pink and  bright greens really made the venue pop! The bride made her own custom ikat pink and green table runners that helped pull together the look with the bold and beautifully done flowers by WildFlowers.

The couple tied in fun, creative details through out their celebration. In lieu of the traditional guest book, the bride came up with something totally unique! The book was a big puzzle of Charleston with different pieces cut out. The guests were told to pick a piece, sign the back, and replace it back into the puzzle.  The bride also had a special swing made for the wedding engraved with her and Drew's initials. It was a creative touch to add to the big Oak Trees at Lowndes Grove.

The bride looked gorgeous in her v-neck silk gown covered in beading, and the guys looked adorable in their pink and white striped bow ties! The excitement was building all day for the groom as he waited for the first look of his bride. The ceremony was made extra special when a bouquet was placed on an empty chair in the front row, in memory of Drew's Mom. This is such a great way to keep loved ones close!

Guests enjoyed cocktail hour with the amazing strings of Seth G. His upbeat vibe got everyone in the mood to party! Christine and her dad shagged to “Brown Eyed Girl” by Van Morrison for their Father/Daughter dance. The bride and groom ended their reception with their first dance to “This Will Be” by Natalie Cole. The party never stopped with this group as they departed by trolley to enjoy the wonderful adventures of Downtown Charleston.

Marion's in The French Quarter Wedding: Kellianne & Peter

On October 27th, Kellianne and Peter said their vows at the Saint Luke’s Chapel in downtown Charleston. It was a beautiful day for a wedding, sun shining as the bride and groom and their beloved dog Maggie captured this day that they will remember forever. After the ceremony, the newlyweds made their way to the Waterfront Park for pictures and guests headed to Marion’s in the French Quarter for cocktail hour.

Cocktail hour was held in the foyer of Marion’s and guests mingled around the bar. Pictures of Kellianne, Peter, Maggie and family and friends covered the shelves behind the bar and beautiful crafted decorations to match her navy blue, apple green, and white color scheme were sprinkled around the reception. Keeping to the Southern charm of the décor, monograms could be found anywhere from the crafted canvases to the menus. Votive candles were scattered around the venue with custom pearl accents, handmade by the mother of the bride.

After their photo shoot by the water, Kellianne and Peter were announced into Marion’s and shared their first dance to Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You. The smell of warm apple cinnamon cider filled the room, being the specialty drink of the night. Tables were set with beautiful floral arrangements of white hydrangeas with a green accent by Wild Flower Inc. A plated dinner by B. Gourmet came after a blessing. Guests enjoyed a salad and butternut squash soup, followed by their chosen entrees.

Their beautiful cake by Twenty Six Divine was a perfect match to the colors and theme, also complete with a monogram. The three-tiered square cake had a blue and green flower pattern on the bottom, monogram and polka dots for the middle, and a top-tier with white roses. Twenty Six Divine also provided apple pie pops which were in planters next to the gorgeous cake.

After dinner and desserts had been eaten, the dance floor opened and guests congregated around the bar. The smell from Copperpot Confections making fresh pralines on site in the foyer filled the venue and wafted onto East Bay Street.   The dog lovers that they are, Kellianne and Peter also had doggie bags for their four-legged friends, filled with handmade dog treats.
