Magnolia Plantation Wedding: Colleen + Freddy

Colleen + Freddy's rustic Magnolia Plantation Wedding at the Carriage House was full of DIY details and fun favors that perfectly complimented the couple's style! Their big day began with hair & makeup by Paper Dolls for the girls and a relaxing afternoon for the guys pre-nuptials. Everyone then gathered under the oaks at Magnolia Plantation for the "I do's".  We loved Freddy's reaction when he saw his beautiful bride for the very first time! Post-ceremony, it was time for cocktail hour! Guests enjoyed appetizers by Crazy Dutchman Catering including pimento cheese spread on garlic crostinis, mini crab cakes with creole remoudlade, and more, plus the newlywed's signature cocktail, the Palmetto Mule! As guests began to make their way inside for the start of the reception, Mr. + Mrs. Paternostro were announced in to "Home" by Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros. Guests were swooning over the wedding design: moss-covered chandeliers, soft candlelight, accents of navy and greens, touches of burlap, lush white hydrangeas, and gourmet favors! Charleston street names were printed on signs and placed into vintage wine bottles to mark each table for the guests to find with their custom mason jar glasses. Colleen + Freddy, along with the bridal party and groomsmen, sat at wooden handmade farm tables, a wedding gift for the new Mr. + Mrs.! Their head tables were adorned with burlap table runners, monogrammed napkins, and elegant china. After a buffet-style dinner of sautéed shrimp & grits, cider pulled pork BBQ sliders, and a mashed potato bar, it was time to dance! DJ Wade kept everyone on the dance floor all night long, with a special appearance by the University of South Carolina's mascot, Cocky! Colleen + Freddy, recent USC grads, were thrilled with this sweet surprise by Colleen's mother. To end this perfect night, the newlyweds were sent out through a picturesque sparkler archway by their guests, wishing them love and happiness! Thanks so much to Richard Bell Photography for capturing this amazing celebration!

Magnolia Plantation Wedding: Tori + Ryan

An elegant simplicity was emitted all around Magnolia Plantation wedding of Tori+Ryan. The lingering rain in the morning gave the day a nice cool breeze making the July heat bearable. You could see the love these two shared by the way they looked at one another. Happy tears came from the grooms eyes as he saw his beautiful bride for the first time walking down the aisle. This wedding was filled with details galore! Personalized matches, water bottles, koozies, and sunglasses made the perfect touch.  The bridesmaids were dressed in a mixed array of lovely navy dresses accompanied with DIY bouquets made by one of the bridesmaids. The bridal party entered into the reception space with their sunglasses on ready to party. Shrimp and grits, Pork Loin, and a Mac and Cheese bar were a huge hit with the guests! This crowd couldn't wait to get out on the dance floor, and Charleston Grove Factory helped them shake it all night long!

Magnolia Plantation Wedding: Katina + Tyler

On July 13th at the Magnolia Plantation Carriage House, Katina and Tyler shared a romantic wedding surrounded by family and friends. This destination couple incorporated Greek traditions, as well as their personal story of how they met. After saying ‘I Do’ among the moss trees and waterfront that accompany the Carriage House, a cocktail hour followed on the patio.

After mingling with friends and family who traveled from afar to help celebrate this special day, a plated dinner was served inside the Carriage House. Katina and Tyler’s romantic and sweet wedding celebration accented their love for each other that started when the couple met in college.

A color scheme of coral, light green, grey, ivory, yellow, and pink were used to create a romantic, garden inspired theme. With the help of First Bloom of Charleston, beautiful flower arrangements were placed throughout the Carriage House to accent this theme.

After several heartfelt toasts and more celebration over dinner, Katina and Tyler enjoyed a fun reception with their guests. The band Zero to Never kept the party going with great musical entertainment.

Top 3 Budget Busters

As a bride looking to wed in the Charleston area, there are 3 costs that every bride and groom should keep in mind when determining their wedding budget. These costs are often forgotten but important to consider. They include the following:

  1. Rentals: Many Charleston rental companies are not all inclusive. Therefore, it is important to keep in mind that each item that a bride and groom wish to rent from a rental company will be individually priced. This includes items such as tents, catering equipment, chairs, flooring, glassware, flatware, china and much more. One of the perks of working with us is that we handle this for you! We coordinate with the caterer and venue to make sure we have every single item covered for the big day!

  2. Hotels: Charleston is a beautiful city with many attractions. Keeping that in mind, Charleston is a huge tourist location and draws tons of people from all over. Therefore, hotel prices can be high. Also, hotels can become booked quickly, especially for the spring and summer seasons. Brides should remember to make hotel reservations in advance and be prepared to pay higher prices due to location and demand for hotel accommodations in the area. Here are a few hotels that Pure Luxe Bride recommends that wedding parties check out: French Quarter Inn, The Society House, Andrew Pinckney Inn, and Zero George.

  3. Photography: There are plenty of photographers in the Charleston area that do amazing work. Although prices may be high for the photographer that you wish to use, paying a higher price will ultimately pay off in the end when you have amazing images. Keep in mind these tips when booking your photographer:
    • Make sure you receive access to the disk and rights of the images.
    • Make sure the photographer has a second shooter at your wedding. This will allow you to have more photos from different angles.
    • Make sure that your photographer will provide at least 8 hours of coverage.
