Marion's in The French Quarter Wedding: Kellianne & Peter

On October 27th, Kellianne and Peter said their vows at the Saint Luke’s Chapel in downtown Charleston. It was a beautiful day for a wedding, sun shining as the bride and groom and their beloved dog Maggie captured this day that they will remember forever. After the ceremony, the newlyweds made their way to the Waterfront Park for pictures and guests headed to Marion’s in the French Quarter for cocktail hour.

Cocktail hour was held in the foyer of Marion’s and guests mingled around the bar. Pictures of Kellianne, Peter, Maggie and family and friends covered the shelves behind the bar and beautiful crafted decorations to match her navy blue, apple green, and white color scheme were sprinkled around the reception. Keeping to the Southern charm of the décor, monograms could be found anywhere from the crafted canvases to the menus. Votive candles were scattered around the venue with custom pearl accents, handmade by the mother of the bride.

After their photo shoot by the water, Kellianne and Peter were announced into Marion’s and shared their first dance to Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You. The smell of warm apple cinnamon cider filled the room, being the specialty drink of the night. Tables were set with beautiful floral arrangements of white hydrangeas with a green accent by Wild Flower Inc. A plated dinner by B. Gourmet came after a blessing. Guests enjoyed a salad and butternut squash soup, followed by their chosen entrees.

Their beautiful cake by Twenty Six Divine was a perfect match to the colors and theme, also complete with a monogram. The three-tiered square cake had a blue and green flower pattern on the bottom, monogram and polka dots for the middle, and a top-tier with white roses. Twenty Six Divine also provided apple pie pops which were in planters next to the gorgeous cake.

After dinner and desserts had been eaten, the dance floor opened and guests congregated around the bar. The smell from Copperpot Confections making fresh pralines on site in the foyer filled the venue and wafted onto East Bay Street.   The dog lovers that they are, Kellianne and Peter also had doggie bags for their four-legged friends, filled with handmade dog treats.

At Pure Luxe, we love DIY brides! The creativity and uniqueness that brides like Cassady bring to their wedding weekend makes for a celebration that is unlike any other. Cassady and her mother engaged in several DIY projects, such as the patterned table runners and napkins and collected vintage milk glass for the centerpieces.

Vintage hankies were placed on each seat during the ceremony to help wipe away those happy tears of celebration. This gesture left a thoughtful impression on wedding guests, and served as a memento from the wedding.

Perhaps one of the most unique items found at this wedding was the amazing cake provided by WildFlour Pastry. This yellow ombre cake was unlike any cake design we have seen, and it quickly became one of Pure Luxe’s favorites.

The Rusty Hook Ramblers, a local bluegrass band, provided music during the cocktail hour. The bride and groom discovered this bluegrass band while eating dinner at Zia, and knew they had to have the band play at their wedding! At the reception, guests enjoyed music from the DJ of Ascend Entertainment. When it came time to depart the celebration, the bride and groom left in a London Black Cab. These unique London cabs are always a hit and are a fun way to exit your wedding reception. Party guests continued the celebration of Cassady and Joe at Blind Tiger Pub.

Magnolia Plantation Wedding: Kylie + Ryan

To celebrate such as sweet and loving couple, a wedding at Magnolia Plantation Carriage House was only fitting. For Kylie and Ryan’s Pure Luxe wedding, the couple said ‘I Do’ beneath the wallowing oaks among family and friends. This beautiful scene captured the beauty of the lowcountry, as well the couple's love for each other. Towards the end of the ceremony, there was a traditional United States Marine Crops sward arch for the newlywed couple to exit through. What a personal touch this was - not to mention, it looked awesome!

Making a wedding day personal and tailored towards the bride and groom's personalities is so important. Kylie + Ryan did a fabulous job of incorporating personal elements into their big day. Ryan wore his USMC dress attire and the bridesmaids accented this color scheme by wearing navy and grey. The color combination looked amazing with flowers arrangements of white and green. What an elegant look this created!

Cru Catering provided stationed meals inside the carriage house for guests to enjoy. Their famous mac and cheese with lobster, BBQ pork sliders, shrimp and grits, and beef tenderloin with grilled veggies were on the menu for the night. Ready for something sweet to eat?! For dessert, guests satisfied their sweet tooth cravings with delicious cupcakes by Cupcake. The groom's cake was even more amazing, as it was themed around the groom’s USMC background. These desserts looked great and tasted just as amazing!

Pure Luxe Bride absolutely loved this couple's wedding favors! The bride, along with her aunt and grandmother, picked over 90 lbs of peaches in California. They then created a peach BBQ sauce that said ‘I do BBQ’ on the outside of the package. What a clever and unique wedding favor!

DJ Burt with FingerSnappin' Entertainment was at it again, keeping the bride, groom and their guests on the dance floor for much of the night. As the reception came to an end, the party did not stop there! Kylie + Ryan departed through a canopy of sparklers and into a Charleston Black Cab Company vehicle. The bridal party climbed on board a white trolley, and the celebration lasted through the night in downtown Charleston.

We loved the surprise favors for the groom! The groom loves cookies, so the bride and her mother had these custom state cookies made as favors for their guests- each state represents where each is from, where they were engaged and where they married.

We've found a bride that loves paper as much as we do! From the custom silhouettes to thank you notes and programs, Angela Claxton did a fantastic job!

Citadel Beach House Wedding: Allison + Michael

On May 11th, Allison and Michael had their destination wedding at The Citadel Beach House. This preppy beach-side wedding celebrated the fun and sweet personalities of the bride and groom. This five acre venue is located on the ocean front of the Isle of Palms and was the perfect location for this nautical, preppy inspired wedding. Allison and Michael exchanged their vows by the beach and continued the celebration with a beautiful reception, also at The Citadel Beach House.

To accent the preppy and nautical feel of this beach-side wedding, Allison and Michael incorporated a navy, white, and green color scheme. The colors were used for the table runners, patterned pillows among Adirondack chairs, and spring floral arrangements.

Thanks to the help of Wild Flowers Inc., the bridal party looked amazing with their fresh, green, and spring inspired bridal bouquets. What a statement these simple yet beautiful arrangements made.

Southern style food stations were provided at the reception by B. Gourmet Catering. Guests enjoyed these southern dishes, as well as miniature desserts and cake with fresh, strawberry filling from The Ashley Bakery.
