Planning Tip Tuesday: Pre-Wedding Relaxation Week

With your big day quickly approaching, you might feel like you need some time to yourself before all of the wedding festivities begin. Our advice is to grab your bestie (or Mom) and hit up some fun, relaxing things to do while you are waiting for your guests to arrive to Charleston. Not sure exactly what to do? Here's our ultimate go-to guide for all things relaxing and fun!

1. Pre Wedding Yoga

Be focused and present for you special day. Your wedding is about you and your love, but it is easy to get lost in the details, and planning and making everyone happy. Choose to start your day with a one on one private yoga session to quiet the chaos, to connect to your place of balance, to ground and be reminded that it’s all about love and that everything else will fall into place. Melora with Serenity Tree Yoga offers private lessons for the bride to be and can come to you or a beach location. What a perfect way to start your wedding week!

2. Wine Blending - The Grand Bohemian Hotel

A new trend in Charleston, wine blending is a great way to relax and create the perfect bottle of wine to celebrate your special day! Not only is your wine designed and blended by you, but you also get to create your own label to finish it off. Blend. Sip. Repeat!

3. BYOB Candle Making Class at Candlefish

Nothing says relaxation like the scent of a candle! Candlefish, a candle store that carries every type of candle you could imagine, offers BYOB candle making classes. You and your MOH can pop some bubbly and create a memorable scent to remind you of such a special occasion!

4. Happy Hour on a Rooftop

The Charleston skyline is a must-see and what better way to take in the gorgeous view than from a super chic rooftop bar!

5. Get a spray tan from Canary Rock! Want a nice bronzed glow and don't live at the beach or get much sun? We recommend a spray tan just a few days before the big day from Canary Rock Salon.

Fabulous Friday: How to Make Your Wedding Ceremony Unique

Looking for some ideas to make your ceremony unique in your own personal way? Here are a few ideas to add a creative touch to your ceremony: Flowers! You may be thinking flowers, well duh. But you can get creative with the flower selection and arrangement. A flower arbor is an adorable way to draw attention to the ceremony space. Flower pedals down the aisle can be arranged in all kinds of ways to make the aisle look more appealing for pictures and for the grand entrance of the bride!

Ceremony music is a way to show creativity from the bride and the groom! If youre tired of hearing "Air from Water", switch it up! Acoustic versions of your favorite songs make for great ceremony music! Have your parents seated to a fun acoustic version of their favorite song, like "All You Need is Love" by the Beatles. After the ceremony is over, you'll want to make your exit to something fun! Try "Signed, Sealed, Delivered," by Stevie Wonder.

Vows, writing your own vows is a simple way to create something special between you and your groom. This also adds a personal touch to your ceremony.

Don't forget about all the other men that make your life so special! If you have someone other than dad that has been a big part of your life, let them share in your experience. Step-dads or grandpa's also love to walk you down the aisle on your big day! Have a man on each arm, or have your dad walk you half way and someone else walk you the rest!

Also think of having both of your parents walk you down the aisle, so they both can give you away!

Chandeliers! A little bling hanging over top of the bride and groom is a cute and fun way to make your ceremony shine! Not to mention the great pictures!

If you have someone special in your life.. other than your fiancé, bring them along!  Pets are a great way to liven up the ceremony, have your pets run down the aisle to greet you or have them escorted by friends or family! Cute bow ties and leashes and Dog Nanny recommended!

Love Locks! This is such an adorable idea to add into your ceremony. You and your groom pick a cute lock and key set, engraved or painted! During the ceremony, the Officiant will tell you to place the lock on whatever you choose and toss the key! This is great for weddings on the water because the bride and groom can lock in their love by throwing the key "overboard". This is also a sweet idea to use with both sets of parents who present their own love locks as well.

Memory tables are a sweet way to remember those that could not be at the ceremony. Normally a table is dedicated to those who have passed with pictures of them and a cute little saying like, "We know you would be here today, if heaven wasn't so far away."

Wedding Bliss: Top 5 Tips for Rain On Your Wedding Day

Create Your Own-2 In the weeks leading up to your special day, it's easy to turn into a meteorologist - watching the storm that may or may not hit the coast or constantly checking the temperature. Even if you're not worried about it, maybe your mom is, or that one bridesmaid won't stop notifying you every time she receives a weather update. Our best advice? Don't worry about it! There's nothing you or anyone else can do to control the weather; your special day, when you get to marry the man of your dreams, will happen - rain or shine! Keep reading below for our top five tips for rain on your wedding day!

1. Don't Panic

You may have known the rain was coming, or it could be a freak Charleston downpour that will only last 30 minutes. No matter the circumstance, don't panic! Your discomfort will be apparent in each and every photograph.  You look beautiful, you're about to marry your best friend and you're surrounded by your closest family and friends. A little rain can't stop you from enjoying this very special day.

2. Find Ways to Work Around It

The only thing you can do in this situation is be flexible. Maybe you'll have to do a first look because it will be storming after the ceremony, or you may have to spend a few extra minutes taking photos during cocktail hour because you couldn't do that first look. No big deal, right?! If you've known about the rain for quite some time, invest in some cute umbrellas or rain boots for your bridal party. Find ways to work around the rain and don't let it ruin your photos! You won't regret it if you try!

 3. Trust Your Photographer

We can't say this enough - trust your photographer! They are professionals and they know what they are doing, rain and shine! Discuss a rain plan with your photographer beforehand and ask what they typically do on rain days. A bride and groom can find comfort in the fact that there is a plan no matter what. Discuss some photograph ideas with them that you can only do in the sun, and come up with some creative ideas for pictures you can only take in the rain! A lot of photographers will even tell you that your pictures will turn out better when it's rainy or hazy out.

4. Let Us Come Up With Your Plan B and Trust Us On It

You have to trust us too! Discuss your weather concerns with us ahead of time and we will walk you through a step-by-step plan for what we do if it happens to rain on your special day. If we have to put a tent on a rain-hold, we will. If we have to have side-panels for the tent due to wind, we'll make it happen. We are here to make your day as perfect as possible! We want all of our Pure Luxe couples to love Plan B as much as they love Plan A.

5. Embrace The Rain!

Our last piece of advice to all of our Pure Luxe couples is to just embrace the rain! Have fun and remember what the day is about - LOVE! Relax, trust the experts and smile.
