Pure Luxe bride and groom Gillian and Stuart wed on April 8th at The Island House, located in Johns Island. This beautiful venue was the perfect location to showcase the bride and grooms charming and fun personalities in a romantic and vintage inspired wedding. This small, intimate ceremony was held outside overlooking the Stono River. Friends and family from the bride and grooms hometown in Scotland were present to be a part of the special day.
The Island House is the perfect venue for brides and grooms looking to capture breathtaking views of the Lowcountry. This venue provides beautiful pictures of an amazing waterfront landscape.
B. Gourmet Catering provided catering services for the reception. Southern style food stations were placed inside the beautiful white tent with wrought iron chandeliers. Their 28 guests sat at one large rectangular table to create a more intimate feel with shades of purple, grey, and white in their decor elements. Although the bride and groom grew up in Scotland, they now call Australia home. However, elements from their Scottish heritage were seen throughout the wedding. Many guests wore kilts and other forms of Scottish attire. Also, the band Cahoots flew to Charleston from the bride and grooms hometown in Scotland to provide bluegrass music for the reception. All of these details created a personal element for the wedding. To add to the personal feel of this wedding, the groom sang and played guitar to his wife towards the end of the reception.
Gillian and Stuart exited The Island House in true glam and vintage fashion, departing the reception in a 1970 Cadillac Deville.
