Legare Waring House: Katie + Adam

It was a gorgeous July summer day for this sweet couple to become husband and wife!  Katie + Adam wed at The Cathedral of St. Luke and St. Paul before returning via ACW Trolley to the Legare Waring House for the reception.  The couple chose vibrant colors of coral, orange, pink and yellow floral arrangements, which looked stunning against the bridesmaid's aqua floor length dresses, yet no one upstaged Katie who looked absolutely stunning in her Hayley Paige wedding gown.  Guests enjoyed drinks and dinner from CruCatering while mingling under the reception tent or taking in the many scenic views of the historic southern home.  Gold IES chandeliers hung from the tent to set the mood for the celebration.  King of Pops arrived to provide guests with a late night snack to cool them off from the Charleston summer heat.  The glow stick straws that guests could put in their drinks were a huge hit and such a fun detail! The night ended with a glow stick departure while Katie + Adam drove away in a 1957Chevrolet Bel Air to spend their first night as husband and wife before heading to Costa Rica for their honeymoon.  We wish you the best, Katie + Adam!

Legare Waring House Wedding: Rosie + Daniel

Rosie and Daniel chose the historic and beautiful Legare-Waring House for their rustic spring wedding! The couple wanted to accent their alma-mater in their decorations, with peach and lavender florals from Branch Design Studio throughout their entire ceremony and reception, Go Clemson!! With details like wooden wine barrels and vintage  lounge furniture, this upscale rustic wedding was one for the books! This Legare Waring House wedding was complete with cafe lighting over the entire reception space, and gorgeous crystal chandeliers amongst the oak trees, this reception was absolutely stunning as the sun began to set over the water.  Our bride and groom both spent the morning at the Legare -Waring House getting ready before their intimate first look amongst the oak trees. After their pre-wedding photo shoot with Courtney Dox, the bridal party made their way to the lawn of the house, and down the isle! After a beautiful evening ceremony, it was time to celebrate! Our newest Mr. and Mrs. shared their first dance to "Crazy Love", played live for them by The Root Doctors, and then joined their family and friends for a night filled with love and celebration. After an incredible meal from Cru Catering, and a delicious cake from DeClare, Rosie and Daniel spent their night dancing with friends and family and enjoying their stunning open air reception. We're so happy Rosie and Daniel chose to go through their planning process with us, and we loved watching them begin their new and exciting future together!

William Aiken House Wedding: Erin + Gibb

We are still swooning over Erin + Gibb's glam wedding at the William Aiken House! These South Carolina natives chose downtown Charleston to host their dream wedding, and it was truly a day to remember. After getting ready at IOP, The couple met at William Aiken House for their first look where Gibb could not take his eyes off of Erin! As guests began to arrive for the ceremony, the wedding party was tucked away for last minute laughs and sips before Erin's father walked her down the aisle to the sounds of Seth G playing "A Thousand Years". Erin's lush bouquet by Branch was full of white patience garden roses, blush Japanese ranunculus, white sweet peas, jasmine vine, all tied together with an ivory ribbon. Cocktail hour began shortly post-ceremony with drinks and passed hors d'oeuvres of pear & almond brie, duck confit, bacon wrapped scallops, and tuna tartar.  Happy tears then filled the room when Erin and her father danced to "My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw, and Gibb and his mother to "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts. Following dances, stations were open and ready for guests to enjoy!  Guests tables were decorated with tall, fluted glass vases full of lush white larkspur, stemmed candleholders with floating candles, and textural gold mercury glass. After guests enjoyed dinner, it was time to cut the cake, drink champagne, and dance! This red velvet and lemon cake was in beautiful shades of pink, gold, and ivory, tying in the wedding colors. Then, it was time to dance Quiana Parler's and friends! Special details included custom pink and taupe cozies for drinks, a wedding piñata guest book, "Drunk on Love" cocktail napkins with gold foilg,  and light-up sunglasses and glow sticks for late night! The couple was then sent off via rickshaw through a sparkler departure into downtown Charleston!

Boone Hall Wedding at The Cotton Dock: Megan + Blake

We still can't get enough of Megan + Blake's rustic chic Boone Hall Wedding at the Cotton Dock! This wedding was full of thoughtful details that made for a beautiful night to remember! The day began with hair and makeup for Megan and the girls by Paper Dolls on Isle of Palms, while Blake and the boys suited up at Wild Dunes. Everyone met at Boone Hall Plantation for the bride + groom's long-awaited first look! With the combination of this couple's style + the natural beauty of the plantation grounds, these pictures came out utterly perfect. When it came time for the ceremony, dark skies were on the horizon, but Pure Luxe Bride quickly rocked the rain plan and held a standing ceremony for guests on the dock under the overhang. Wine barrel cocktail tables served as impromptu aisle markers and the lounge furniture was used to seat the immediate family of the bride + groom. The bride was a vision of elegance as she walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of "Something in the Way She Moves" by James Taylor. Her organic bouquet by Branch was blooming with white astilbe, white ranunculus, white sweet peas, dusty miller leaves, Queen Anne's lace, pale yellow poppies, soft blush ranunculus, and more, tied together with an ivory lace ribbon. Megan also wore a flower crown with loose stems of baby's breath, spirea, and white majolica spray roses. Post-nuptials, cocktail hour kicked off with the wedding's signature drink, local Firefly sweet tea vodka + lemonade in a mason jar, and passed hors d'oeuvres by Cru Catering. Guests then made their way to their seats at dark-wood farm tables decorated with white lace runners, wooden boxes filled with a spilling arrangement of soft yellow ranunculus, white lilac, apricot parrot tulips, and more, vintage blue mason jars filled with candles, and milk glass bud vases with peachy blush sweet peas. Vintage books with hand-painted gold numbers served as the table markers and mahogany stained wooden wine crates filled with sheet moss and queen annes lace housed the guest's place cards. A mouth-watering plated dinner was served to guests while Megan's matron of honor gave a heartfelt speech to the newlyweds. After dinner, it was time to cut the three-tiered cake by Sablee made up of champagne cake with wild strawberry and champagne filling, coconut cake with coconut cream filling, and vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream filling. Guests enjoyed cake and mingling while dancing to the sounds of Epic Charleston all night long! A few of our other favorite details from this elegant reception included the chandelier above the dance floor covered in a lush, organic arrangement of flowers and the vintage, distressed mirrors hanging on one of the back walls. As the night came to an end, the new Mr. + Mrs. danced to "Is This Love" by Bob Marley before happily departing through a sparkler archway! Thanks so much to Hyer Images for capturing this gorgeous wedding!

Magnolia Plantation Wedding: Carissa + Tom

The rainy spring weather didn't stop Carissa and Tom's day from being anything but perfect. This sweet couple hailed from Canada and chose Charleston for a small affair with their closest friends and family. We loved designing this intimate garden style wedding at the Magnolia Plantation Veranda. The lush florals by Branch Design Studio made a dreary day pop! The couple did their first look at Zero George Street which made for the prefect setting with sunlight shining through the window panes. The color palette for the decor was a mixture of pastels-  blush, peach, robin egg blue and spring greens with a touch of gold. The table tops were set with floral vignettes of peonies, garden roses, sweet peas, and light blue delphinium. The head table had a beautiful floral table runner, the vintage charger and gold rimmed glassware were the perfect touch. The Magnolia Veranda provided the perfect backdrop with its large mossy oak trees creating an unspoken breathtaking charm.

Tessa + Joe at Magnolia Plantation Carriage House

Tessa + Joe's military wedding at Magnolia Plantation was complete with pops of color, lanterns, coral charm peonies, and their furry friends! The ceremony was held outside on the dock overlooking the Ashley River, and the reception took place in the Carriage House. During the ceremony, Tessa + Joe introduced their Love Lock to symbolize their unbreakable love. The couple and parents had their own lock which they locked to a frame and threw the keys into the water. How sweet!

In the Carriage House, white drapes aligned the doorways, custom patterned table runners, and lanterns surrounded by colorful blooms. After a delicious plated dinner and speeches, it was time to cut the ombre ruffled cake. After the reception, guests lined the walkway to send Tessa + Joe off with a sparkler departure!

Fabulous Friday: Our 4 Favorite Ways to Depart the Reception!

When the bride + groom depart from their wedding, their exit is the last thing the guest get to see and their last memory. So why not make it creative?! Below are our favorite 4 ways to depart the reception. 1. Sparklers! Everyone loves sparklers and it's super easy. Sparklers add one last final pop to your wedding. We recommend purchasing the 20 inch sparklers from Sparklers Online. These have a nice long burn time so you have plenty of time for fabulous photo opps!

kerri_lee_BLOG1074

2. Vintage Car A classic, vintage car is a classy, unique way to depart your wedding. If you have an old, vintage car you love then that makes this departure even more special, but you can easily rent one from ACW Limo or Lowcountry Valet .

Also, don't forget about bike taxis! These are so fun, and a great way to sight-see downtown on your ride home.

3. Bubbles

Bubbles are so easy and so fun especially if your venue doesn't allow sparklers. Release your inner child and walk through a tunnel of luminescent bubbles.

4. Balloons Balloons are such a fun, non-traditional way to end the night! Be sure that they are bio degradable as well as the string before you release- we wouldn't want to harm our gorgeous Charleston environment.

Magnolia Plantation Wedding: Katina + Tyler

On July 13th at the Magnolia Plantation Carriage House, Katina and Tyler shared a romantic wedding surrounded by family and friends. This destination couple incorporated Greek traditions, as well as their personal story of how they met. After saying ‘I Do’ among the moss trees and waterfront that accompany the Carriage House, a cocktail hour followed on the patio.

After mingling with friends and family who traveled from afar to help celebrate this special day, a plated dinner was served inside the Carriage House. Katina and Tyler’s romantic and sweet wedding celebration accented their love for each other that started when the couple met in college.

A color scheme of coral, light green, grey, ivory, yellow, and pink were used to create a romantic, garden inspired theme. With the help of First Bloom of Charleston, beautiful flower arrangements were placed throughout the Carriage House to accent this theme.
