Magnolia Plantation Veranda Wedding: Samantha + Jeromy

Labor Day weekend was the perfect weather for a Magnolia Plantation Veranda Wedding for Samantha + Jeromy. The couple had their first look under swooping oaks at the plantation captured by Rachel Red Photography. The ceremony began at the wedding garden with the beautiful white bridge as the backdrop. Once they tied the knot, guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the front lawn of the house followed by dinner on the porch. Tables were set with garland, gold lanterns and lots of candlelight for a simple, elegant southern look. The bride and groom had a beautiful chandelier hanging over their cozy sweetheart table. Following dinner, drinks, and a lot of dancing, Samantha + Jeromy exited through a tunnel of sparklers as Mr. and Mrs. Hyman!

Magnolia Plantation Wedding: Lea + JJ

This Magnolia Plantation wedding proved to be the perfect venue for  our newest Mr. and Mrs., Lea and JJ Gillis! The sun was shining throughout the ceremony, where the cpuple's sweet dog made an appearance, and throughout the reception on the Veranda. After the bride spent the morning primping and relaxing with her bridesmaids at the Francis Marion Hotel in downtown Charleston, Lea arrived at Magnolia Plantation and shared some gorgeous pre-wedding photos with CM Photography amongst the gardens. Guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the porch of the plantation house, where they mingled with guests and enjoyed the sounds of Palmetto Stings with a specailty cocktail in hand. As the reception began, everyone enjoyed an incredible meal courtesy of Mosaic Catering! Instead of a tent, Lea and JJ opted for an open air reception with cafe lighting, which looked absolutely stunning as the sun began to set. . It's all in the details when it comes to making your wedding unique, and one of our favorite details of the night was the glamorous crystal chandelier over the rustic mahogany bar. But, you can't have a wedding without cake, or rather  cupcakes for this fun-loving couple!  Lea and JJ danced the night away under the stars and finally made a grand exit complete with sparklers!

Magnolia Plantation Wedding: Carissa + Tom

The rainy spring weather didn't stop Carissa and Tom's day from being anything but perfect. This sweet couple hailed from Canada and chose Charleston for a small affair with their closest friends and family. We loved designing this intimate garden style wedding at the Magnolia Plantation Veranda. The lush florals by Branch Design Studio made a dreary day pop! The couple did their first look at Zero George Street which made for the prefect setting with sunlight shining through the window panes. The color palette for the decor was a mixture of pastels-  blush, peach, robin egg blue and spring greens with a touch of gold. The table tops were set with floral vignettes of peonies, garden roses, sweet peas, and light blue delphinium. The head table had a beautiful floral table runner, the vintage charger and gold rimmed glassware were the perfect touch. The Magnolia Veranda provided the perfect backdrop with its large mossy oak trees creating an unspoken breathtaking charm.

Magnolia Plantation Wedding: Katie + Dan

On one of the first truly autumn feeling weekends in Charleston, Katie and Dan said their vows at St. John’s Catholic Church surrounded by friends and family. After the charming ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests then made their way to one of Pure Luxe’s favorite venues, the Magnolia Plantation Veranda, filled with history and scenic views that you can only find in Charleston. The Veranda of the Plantation House wraps all the way around, looking over an open pasture and manicured gardens and provides a huge outside area for dining and dancing into the night.

Upon arrival, cocktail hour began on the lawn of the plantation house by the gazebo. Guests mingled under the Spanish moss that hangs from the live oak trees and enjoyed music and drinks. As the sun began to set and the temperatures dropped, the newlywed’s thoughtful gift of Pashmina scarves came in handy. Cocktail hour came to an end and guests made their way onto the veranda.

Walking up the stairs of the plantation house, place cards tied to miniature Louisiana hot sauce bottles directed everyone to their beautiful tables that were set around the veranda. Accented with natural centerpieces of lanterns and an assortment of pink and white flowers and wicker and sea-foam green place settings that popped on the white linens, the veranda was decorated perfectly, thanks to Duvall.

The bridal party was announced in, followed by heart-warming toasts from Katie’s father Bernie and the maid of honor and best man, Chrissy and Tom.  Dinner was served and guests made their way to the multiple stations around the veranda including mussels, frites, and a carving station. The three-tiered wedding cake, hanging under a Villanova Alumni sign, was cut after dinner using personalized cake cutting tools and then served. Another station opened, offering ice cream to go along with the delicious cake.

Music by the Ascension Band created a lively environment under the heaters and lanterns around the porch. Playing many new and classic covers, guests danced into the night with the newlyweds. Katie and Dan kept the party going as they and their guests made their way down the front steps to buses. The Jurassic Park Theme song provided a memorable exit the couple and their guests.
