Magnolia Plantation Wedding: Jenna + Luke

Jenna and Luke's Magnolia Plantation wedding was the perfect day from start to finish! Jenna is an industry friend, and we were so excited when she reached out to us to help plan her big day! Jenna + Luke's passion for nature and horses inspired the equestrian details and all things western which was the perfect vision for the Carriage House. Horseshoes were set at each seat as a guest favor, custom tribal patterned napkins, and dream catchers as the backdrop of their sweetheart table. Their organic florals were full of natural greens and potted terrariums complimenting the laid back environment of the wedding day. Jenna looked stunning in her gorgeous custom gown, but we expected nothing less from a bride that works at a local bridal gown boutique! We wish Jenna + Luke a lifetime of love and happiness! Magnolia Plantation Carriage House Wedding: Stacey + David

David + Stacey's Magnolia Plantation Carriage House wedding was the perfect venue to say "I do".  After getting ready, the couple met downtown for their 'first look' outside the Dock Street Theatre, which was beautifully captured by Dana Cubbage. The Theatre was a special place for the bride who grew up preforming there as a little girl. This romantic, river-front location (along with the very compliant, and stunning weather) provided the perfect backdrop to a stunning Jewish ceremony and reception in front of their closest family and friends. David + Stacey were married under a beautiful hand-made Huppah that was accented with a fabulous florals by Wild Flowers, Inc.  Pink hued blooms filled the table tops with accents of navy and gold with specialty gold sequined runners.  A white birdcage with spilling flowers adorned David + Stacey's sweetheart table. Guests enjoyed signature cocktails by Squeeze named "The Sherfman" that was made up of vodka, grapefruit juice, simple syrup & bitters, and a "Southern Belle" made up of firefly vodka and lemonade. Their signature cocktail was named after their fun wedding social media hashtag, #Sherfman (a combination of both of their last names.) Delicious hors d'oeuvres were made and served by Salthouse catering, while guests mingled and enjoyed the DJ's selection of Sinatra-style music. David + Stacey danced the night away, including a very fun Horah (which was our favorite part of the evening!) The newly weds rode off in style in a Rolls Royce as the new Mr. & Mrs. Shiffman.

Magnolia Plantation Carriage House Wedding: Megan + Patrick

Megan + Patrick's wine country inspired Magnolia Plantation Carriage House Wedding was a rustic dream come true! The overall setting was simple and elegant with a neutral palette, which was a perfect match for the rustic venue; this celebration had the ultimate balance of feminine details, soft colors, and fresh blooms and greenery. Since the bubbly couple got engaged in Sonoma, California, their wedding emulated the feeling of wine country! They used wine boxes as their cake stands, wine barrels for their ceremony arrangements, and a wine bottle as their guest book to open on their one year anniversary! As guests arrived, the bride + groom enlisted their favorite little ones adorned with halos to greet guests and snap a picture of everyone for the guestbook! After the ceremony, a peacock made an unannounced appearance during the bridal party photos which made for a few yelps and some incredible, unexpected pictures. Guests danced the night away, and said sweet goodbyes to the newlyweds during a picture perfect sparkler departure.

Magnolia Plantation Wedding: Colleen + Freddy

Colleen + Freddy's rustic Magnolia Plantation Wedding at the Carriage House was full of DIY details and fun favors that perfectly complimented the couple's style! Their big day began with hair & makeup by Paper Dolls for the girls and a relaxing afternoon for the guys pre-nuptials. Everyone then gathered under the oaks at Magnolia Plantation for the "I do's".  We loved Freddy's reaction when he saw his beautiful bride for the very first time! Post-ceremony, it was time for cocktail hour! Guests enjoyed appetizers by Crazy Dutchman Catering including pimento cheese spread on garlic crostinis, mini crab cakes with creole remoudlade, and more, plus the newlywed's signature cocktail, the Palmetto Mule! As guests began to make their way inside for the start of the reception, Mr. + Mrs. Paternostro were announced in to "Home" by Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros. Guests were swooning over the wedding design: moss-covered chandeliers, soft candlelight, accents of navy and greens, touches of burlap, lush white hydrangeas, and gourmet favors! Charleston street names were printed on signs and placed into vintage wine bottles to mark each table for the guests to find with their custom mason jar glasses. Colleen + Freddy, along with the bridal party and groomsmen, sat at wooden handmade farm tables, a wedding gift for the new Mr. + Mrs.! Their head tables were adorned with burlap table runners, monogrammed napkins, and elegant china. After a buffet-style dinner of sautéed shrimp & grits, cider pulled pork BBQ sliders, and a mashed potato bar, it was time to dance! DJ Wade kept everyone on the dance floor all night long, with a special appearance by the University of South Carolina's mascot, Cocky! Colleen + Freddy, recent USC grads, were thrilled with this sweet surprise by Colleen's mother. To end this perfect night, the newlyweds were sent out through a picturesque sparkler archway by their guests, wishing them love and happiness! Thanks so much to Richard Bell Photography for capturing this amazing celebration!

Magnolia Plantation Wedding: Kimberly + Clint

Kimberly + Clint's Magnolia Plantation Wedding was a beautiful, intimate gathering for the happy couple! The bridal party started hair and makeup bright and early with Paper Dolls in the Carriage Suite at Magnolia Plantation, while the groom and his groomsmen got ready together offsite. With rain on the horizon and a desire for pictures on Magnolia's lush grounds, the couple opted for a first look (although not originally planned) and the pictures turned out absolutely gorgeous! We were overjoyed that Kimberly + Clint got the shots they wanted, and it just goes to show that with a little trust, everything will turn out just fine, rain or shine! Following the couple's impromptu first look, the ceremony took place under the oaks with a view of the water as Kimberly + Clint said their vows to each other. Kimberly carried a hand-tied bouquet by Wild Flowers filled with white and green hydrangeas, garden roses, white ranunculus, blush pink lisianthus, and more, plus fabulous pops of bright pink ranunculus. Following the ceremony, Mosaic Catering kicked off cocktail hour with gourmet mimosas in pineapple, orange, and cranberry flavors and bloody marys, complete with celery, pickled vegetables, cracked pepper, bacon swizzles, and a variety of hot sauces. Passed hors d'oeuvres were also served, including chicken dipped waffle bites, yogurt parfaits, and apricot chicken salad. Next, the newlyweds were announced into the reception as "Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Thomas" and they shared their first dance to "At Last" by Etta James. The bride + groom then welcomed their guests to the reception and invited them to enjoy brunch! Brunch stations were set around the room, including His + Hers omelettes, Charleston grits, and an assortment of biscuits. This spread by Mosaic was simply delicious! Tables were adorned with lush centerpieces in rustic wooden boxes and locally made and wrapped pralines as a sweet treat for guests! Rustic-chic lounge was set in the middle of the space in front of Kimberly + Clint's sweetheart table, complete with basket weave chairs for the sweet couple. Ivory drape by Pure Luxe Bride softened the space and tied the design together perfectly. Guests had a wonderful time on the dance-floor dancing to tunes by DJ Rob Duren. At the end of this lovely day, the new Mr. + Mrs. were happily sent on their way with a bubble send off! Thanks so much to Aaron + Jillian for capturing all this pretty!

Magnolia Plantation Wedding: Jennifer + Matt

Jennifer + Matt couldn't have asked for a more perfect fall day, as the couple said their "I do's" under the stunning Southern Oaks at the Magnolia Plantation Carriage House. But the party didn't stop there- Jennifer + Matt wanted their guests to experience the entire Plantation, so following their ceremony, guests were escorted to the Conservatory. Drinks were enjoyed during cocktail hour in the crisp, fall air and picturesque scenery to the relaxing sounds of Bob Williams in the background. As cocktail hour began to wind down, guests made their way to the Veranda where the real party began. The oversized tent was filled with crystal chandeliers, mini pumpkins, and pops of lavendar, as each centerpiece was a spilling arrangement of lavender snapdragons, roses, and gorgeous foliage. Jennifer + Matt were announced as husband + wife for the very first time to "Zombie Nation," their college sports chant that had everyone on their feet - Penn State pom-poms in hand- and filled the tent with energy! It's safe to say these two knew how to have a good time and it shows in all of the gorgeous shots from Amelia + Dan. Following an outstanding five-course meal by Cru, guests danced and sang the night away to the Shimmer Band- mixing up the tunes from oldies, to pop! With smiles all around as the night came to an end, Jennifer + Matt were sent off by their guests through an archway of glow sticks - the most perfect exit to their special day.

History Lesson at Magnolia Plantation

Magnolia Plantation is perhaps one of the most exquisite plantations in all of South Carolina. Dating back to 1679, Thomas and Ann Drayton established Magnolia Plantation, and we're the first of many owners spanning throughout 300 years. Most notably, Magnolia Plantation transferred ownership following the death of Thomas Drayton, in 1825. His brother, John Grimke Drayton, who was 22 at the time, took over Magnolia Plantation and truly brought it to it's full potential. With the desire to please his loving wife, Julia, John established an amazing array of gardens throughout Magnolia Plantation, which continue to blossom and expand to this day. Focusing on the soft and natural beauty of the South, John truly created a sought-after environment, perfectly intimate and remote!

Magnolia Plantation Wedding: Rachel + Dan

In celebration of the next chapter of their lives together, Pure Luxe Bride and Groom Rachel + Dan shared a beautiful summer wedding at Magnolia Plantation Carriage House. This rustic yet elegant inspired occasion was the perfect celebration, enjoyed by family and friends. The bride and groom exchanged their vows outside among a beautiful, southern landscape with a picture perfect view of the lowcountry waterfront. After saying ‘I Do’, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour on the patio with live music by the Calvin Taylor Band. Rachel and Dan then invited their guests to a delicious, family style meal inside the carriage house, provided by B. Gourmet Catering. The rustic and southern feel of the Carriage House provided the perfect venue for this romantic, natural, and rustic inspired wedding. The couples sweet personalities were seen throughout their wedding day. Personal touches and romantic elements were incorporated to highlight the couples love for each other.

Light pink, ivory, and shades of tan were used to accent the romantic and elegant theme that the bride and groom were trying to achieve.

Rachel and Dan entertained wedding guests with great food and entertainment. Music was provided during the ceremony and cocktail hour by the Calvin Taylor Band. After enjoying cocktails and a delicious meal, guests gathered around the dance floor where the bride and groom shared a unique first dance to “The Wobble.” This creative first dance kicked off the dance party, provided by the DJ of Lee Edwards Entertainment.

Rachel and Dan’s wedding incorporated several DIY elements. Creative details, such as DIY centerpieces and burlap table toppers, were used to achieve the rustic elegant theme. The couple even used an old window pane to indicate the seating arrangement for guests. What a creative and unique touch these DIY projects provided.

Charleston+wedding+photography-2622459029-O

To incorporate their religious roots, the couple used a unique guest book idea. As guests arrived, they highlighted within a Bible their favorite verse and left their signature. Not only did guests find this idea personal and sweet but, Rachel and Dan will have this keepsake for years to come.

Beautiful floral arrangements were created by Wild Flowers Inc.. Among these arrangements that decorated the reception, table names were created by using the names of cities that were significant to the bride and groom.

To accent the elegant and romantic theme that Rachel and Dan created for their big day, the couple exited through a tunnel of sparklers, where a 1970 Cadillac DeVille awaited them at the end.
