Lowndes Grove Plantation Wedding: Kiera + Brian

Kiera + Brian's Lowndes Grove Plantation wedding was an elegant day to remember! The day began with hair and makeup for Kiera and her bridesmaids in the Lowndes Grove Suite, while Brian and his groomsmen got ready at the French Quarter Inn. Both of these stunning locations made the perfect backdrop for getting ready photos. It's so special to capture the hours leading up to the ceremony! Kiera + Brian opted out of a first look and said "I do" at Saint Luke's Chapel. Kiera looked classic in a beautifully beaded Monique Lhuillier gown. As Kiera walked down the aisle to her handsome groom, she carried a spilling, textural bouquet of peach juliet garden roses, pink maria teresa garden roses, peach tree peonies, cafe au last dahlias, coral peach ranunculus, and more lush blooms. When Brian saw Kiera for the first time, he couldn't contain his excitement. The two said their vows with Brian's father as the officiant. As the newlyweds happily exited, guests made their way to Lowndes Grove Plantation for the reception! The tent was beautifully decorated with long ivory linened tables, mahogany chivari chairs, vintage China, majestic light blue napkins, and gorgeous pops of orange, coral pink, and pink ranunculus in thin clear glass bud vases. The cake was a beautiful shade of light blue with textured detail and vibrant pink maria teresa garden roses and majolica spray roses. The couple had specialty engraved cake forks that read "I do" and "Me too". Extra details we loved were the bride's custom Instagram signs with rose gold frames and place cards attached to vintage keys that doubled as bottle openers! Guests were treated to a plated dinner and a night of lively dancing to the sounds of Stephen Darby. Before the reception came to a close, Kiera + Brian departed under a sparkler archway into their vintage Rolls Royce getaway car. We adored this elegant, vintage design with shades of light blue and pops of vibrant blooms. Wishing this New York couple years of happiness to come!

Fabulous Friday: Emerging Bridal Fashion Trends

New York's Bridal Week was a just a few week's ago and we are happy to report that all the featured bridal collections for Spring 2015 were fabulous! The Pure Luxe Bride girls love what we see and can't wait to see some of these couture items on our brides in the upcoming seasons. Take a look below and get ready for the unexpected!

Modesty is appearing more and more in bridal fashion, without being stiff and hot. The trick to the sleeve look is just the right amount of coverage. Shown left is Monique l'Hullier with lattice, open lace embroidery with Carolina Herrera middle left, and a coral-inspired organic look with Vera Wang on the far right. For brides looking for something a bit more delicate, Oscar de la Renta used long tulle shoulders in the middle right - this favors a faux-sleeve look without actually wearing one.

1930's Style

Jenny Packham, de la Renta and Reem Acra are featured here from left to right. Bias-cut silks and satins, body-slimming silhouettes and capped sleeves are in full swing with these 1930's styled gowns. We also see a lot of art-deco embroidery and jewels.

Transparent Layers

Screen Shot 2014-04-23 at 1.50.58 PMNo stiff or traditional shapes here; only whispy layers of tulle and transparent fabrics! Carolina Herrera and Vera Wang are pictured above with bustles of lace and tulle. These gowns appear as if they are made out of air, as the bride floats down the runway.

Major Veils

Personally, we love veils! They add a timeless piece of both tradition and fashion to a gown and complete the bride's entire look. Veils appear to be back in style and I'm thrilled! Naeem Khan's silver-edged veil (middle) and de la Renta's embroidered fringe pieces (left and right) are what's in! These veils are entirely head-covering, and fall at least to brides' waists.

Hippie 1970's Style

Screen Shot 2014-04-23 at 1.51.13 PM

Simple, flowy and fuss-free - these are the looks of the 1970's. Barefoot and carefree, high necklines and messy hair have emerged on the runway as an upcoming trend. De la Renta, shown left, is simple with cap sleeves, Khan's middle gown long-sleeved and Wang's, shown right, just fits in.

Shades of Grey (ironically...)

Out with the color, and in with the grey and silvers! Gleam and glam is what's trending now. Jenny Packham's unique and detailed beading brings out the grey in her line (center). Khan has gone all out with her embossed and embroidered silver gown (left), while Acra went for a more subtle approach with a light grey background to her lace gown (right).
