Legare-Waring House Wedding: Liz + Kenny

Liz + Kenny's Legare-Waring House wedding was a detailed dream come true for these two LA love birds. Liz and Kenny met via mutual friends in 2011, on the same day her school, UNC, defeated his alma mater, UW, in a heartbreaker game during the March Madness Basketball Tournament. Luckily, she was able to mend his heart over cheap Chinese food and they’ve been together ever since. As a contributor to multiple wedding magazines, Liz had seen it all. She wanted a wedding that truly stood out from the crowd, and wowed her LA guests. Liz loved the idea of a bright and colorful wedding inspired by vibrant fall hues that accented the gorgeous property of the historical Legare Waring House. She had a clear vision for a whimsical wedding with beautiful wildflowers accented with watercolors. Wildflowers ran the lengths of the tables and tall pillar candles were scattered throughout to create a beautiful glow. Everyone could tell where the bride + groom were sitting, with vintage green arm chairs from 428 Main, gold chargers, and floral napkins saving their seats.   As the ceremony began, guests were able to see the stunning bridesmaids in their mismatched neutral gowns that complemented each maid perfectly. Of course, we can't forget the boys! Navy suits made a huge impact against all of the greenery and Kenny stood out with his unique Charleston favorite-Brackish bow tie. All heads turned, as Liz began down the aisle in her Jenny Packham dress. Her father walked with her down the colorfully petaled aisle, and she met Kenny underneath an arbor of wildflowers. After this sweet couple read their vows and did the traditional Jewish breaking of the glass, it was time to celebrate! Liz + Kenny met their other true love at the end of the aisle for some pictures, and their dog Whiskey, could not have been more excited for his parents.  Guests enjoyed small bites and cool cocktails with floral printed straws during this beautiful October night. After everyone had said a few sweet words, it was time for these guests to get a taste of some southern cooking. Salthouse catering provided a delicious station of country fried chicken and mac & cheese. For those foodies in the group, guests also enjoyed grilled fish tacos and a gorgeous best of season display. Liz added a special detail by getting her bar signs, station signs, and hashtag signs hand calligraphied on water color printed paper to match her invitation suite. Once dancing began, Liz changed from her simple flower crown into her "party crown."  Big and bold blooms let the crowd know that it was time to put on their dancing shoes!  Of course the night wouldn't have been complete without celebrating the tradition of the Jewish hoorah! Liz + Kenny departed with their guests to keep the party going in downtown Charleston!

Thomas Bennett House Wedding: Andria + Matt

Andria + Matt came from Ohio to have their Thomas Bennett House Wedding in Charleston, SC. The brides design inspiration came from the colors of a peacock, and the love for all things emerald. It was the most beautiful fall October day, with dining al fresco, a delicious meal served by Salthouse Catering, followed by sweets by Gala Desserts. The bouquet by Branch Design Studio was full of white calla lilies, peacock feathers, and greenery. Clusters of hydrangeas, tulips, and garden roses filled the tables with a of gold and candlelight. Sparkly linens, lounge under a gorgeous chandelier, and a DIY photobooth are just a few of the fun details! The bride and groom and their guests rode off in a rickshaw at the end of the night to continue the party!

Magnolia Plantation Wedding: Anita + Shawn

Anita and Shawn came all the way from New Jersey to have their destination wedding at Magnolia Plantation Carriage House. This couple traveled the world together, got engaged in Africa, and decided to say their "I Do's" in Charleston, SC. Their ceremony was held in front of the oak tree overlooking the Ashley river. PEW's provided vintage church pews for their guests seating with picture frames lining the aisle of the bride + groom as babies growing into their adult life. The bridesmaids looked stylish in their floral printed dressed with astilbe bouquets, we love the print in their outfits! The Carriage House was draped in soft ivory accented with pearls for a feminine touch. Bright blooms filled the table tops in hues of blush, mint, peach, and turquoise. Wooden centerpieces were filled with ranunculus,  hydrangeas, peach lisianthus, coral ranunculus and mint succulents. Mosaic Catering provided delicious eats and fun specialty cocktails for cocktail hour and the reception! The Little White Box, a 1974 Vintage Volkswagen bus, is a traveling photobooth that arrived later in the night for guests to enjoy! See all of the amazing photos captured by Monika Gauthier Photography!

Tessa + Joe at Magnolia Plantation Carriage House

Tessa + Joe's military wedding at Magnolia Plantation was complete with pops of color, lanterns, coral charm peonies, and their furry friends! The ceremony was held outside on the dock overlooking the Ashley River, and the reception took place in the Carriage House. During the ceremony, Tessa + Joe introduced their Love Lock to symbolize their unbreakable love. The couple and parents had their own lock which they locked to a frame and threw the keys into the water. How sweet!

In the Carriage House, white drapes aligned the doorways, custom patterned table runners, and lanterns surrounded by colorful blooms. After a delicious plated dinner and speeches, it was time to cut the ombre ruffled cake. After the reception, guests lined the walkway to send Tessa + Joe off with a sparkler departure!

Island House Wedding: Jessica + Kris

Jessica + Kris's colorful and preppy wedding at The Island House was the perfect start to our busy May. The bright pinks and yellows with a dust of gold gave the wedding a fun southern feel, perfect for a waterside celebration! One of our favorite things to incorporate into design is pattern, and this bride did it right! Table runners, bar panels, and pole ties all bound together beautifully.

As the ceremony ended, guests were treated with colorful specialty cocktails provided by Squeeze with adorable names like "Martial Bliss" and "Cranberry Crush".  The brides favors were precious jams homemade by the mother of the bride. She used unique mad libs as her guest book that were placed throughout the reception for guests to fill out, so fun! With B.Gourmet in charge of the eats and Charleston Groove Factory playing the tunes, this reception was quite the party!

Alex + Jake's celebration took place at Harborside East, a beautiful waterside venue next to the Ravenel Bridge in Mt. Pleasant. Magnolia Plantation Wedding: Melody + Andrew

Melody and Andrew said their vows at the Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church nearby and then were followed by their friends and family to Magnolia Plantation for the reception. The carriage house was decorated with trees by Plants Alive that added to the already rustic feel of the Carriage House. Ivory and beige linens and white flowers popped against the foliage and dark wooden setting. The night was filled with amazing food and dancing as everyone celebrated the union of this lovely couple.

IMG_3590-2

A passing shower couldn’t damper this beautiful bride’s day as she did her first look on the red bride on the Magnolia Plantation property, joined by her groom and stunning bridesmaids. Melody’s bridesmaids were each dressed in different long, beige dresses that were beaded and sequined, and were the perfect accent to Melody’s white beaded wedding gown. The décor of the reception also has an ivory and beige color scheme. Both the bridal party’s bouquets and arrangements in the Carriage House were full of white peonies, accented by slight hints of pink. Melody’s bouquet was uniquely arranged in dusty miller with pink and white peonies and roses and bright magenta astilbe. Each table was set with multiple small clusters of white flowers and cotton with hints of pink in vintage glasses and assorted mercury glass votives. The ivory draping stood out against the dark beams and potted trees that lined the center of the venue and led to the dance floor.

IMG_3557-2IMG_3565IMG_3872IMG_4240

After a romantic ceremony at Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church, guests of Melody and Andrew joined them at plantation for cocktail hour, drinks being served by Squeeze. Friends and family mingled in the carriage house and outside by the fire pit, lit by café lighting. The bridal party was soon announced in, followed closely behind by the newlyweds. The couple shared their first dances and cut their cake by Alisa Channell before stations were opened for dinner. Southern inspired stations by Mosaic included: BBQ sliders, skewers, shrimp and grits and mac and cheese, all presented on vintage wooden stands and boxes to match the décor.

IMG_3431-2IMG_4374-2IMG_5386IMG_5401IMG_5467-2IMG_5531_bwAfter a night filled with socializing and dancing to the sounds of Epic Charleston, guests made their way outside to give Melody and Andrew a proper send off to continue their night downtown. Friends and family lit a path with sparklers to the white Rolls Royce awaiting the newlyweds. The bride and groom drove away, waving goodbye, ready to begin the next chapter of their lives together!

Real Luxe Party: The Knot Market Mixer

Pure Luxe Bride was honored to have been asked to design and plan The Knot's Charleston Market Mixer for the second year in a row! The event took place March 19th, outdoors behind the Gibbes Museum of Art in downtown Charleston. Pure Luxe Bride's very own Francesca and Blake dreamed up this incredible design, layout, and decor and worked with some of Charleston's top vendors to make this vision come to reality. Over 250 of Charleston's wedding industry professionals attended the event and we couldn't have been happier to see so many familiar faces supporting us. Let's hear from the girls at PLB themselves...."When deciding on a venue, we knew we wanted it to be completely outside with open air. The Gibbes was the perfect place for this as it is truly a blank canvas. Our inspiration for this event came from a color palate that's not often used for weddings and we were dying for some bright hues. We created this 'Moroccan Glam' look based off of a bold color palate with touches of sparkle and gold. One of our favorite ways to incorporate unique design elements into an event is by adding custom fabric that can be mixed into all décor aspects. The 'kaleidoscope' fabric that we chose for the front panels of the bar is what we used to create the vision for the entire event. You can see this pattern integrated in all of our stationary and design details. For this event, we really wanted to express our individual design style as you can see in the table arrangements, tabletop chandeliers, fuchsia seat cushions, and station displays. We decided to go a different route with our station signs by using plates with mini easels as a way to show what's being offered which we are really loving! Take a closer look at these images to really get an eye for Pure Luxe Bride design."

Mosaic catered the event with the most delicious, Moroccan cuisine-inspired stations. At the Meatball Bar, guests could choose from Classic Beef, Chicken, and Potato meatballs, with Classic Tomato Sauce, Spicy Teriyaki or Gorgonzola Cream, topped with either Crispy Basil Leaves, Savory Onion Straws or Crunchy Rice Noodles. The Mediterranean-inspired Antipasti table was a plethora of roasted vegetables like zucchini, carrots and asparagus; squash, okra, artichokes, and tomatoes. The Antipasti was complemented by hummus, pimento cheese, tzatziki sauce and green olives, all offered on the side. What Moroccan themed event isn't complete without a flatbread station?! With three delicious options to choose from at this station, all of our guests were sure to find something yummy to munch on throughout the event.

To compliment the Casablanca cocktail fountain, Squeeze On Site created two scrumptious Sangria recipes for guests to enjoy. The first was Sweet Honey White Sangria; the other, a Mixed Berry Limoncello Sangria - both were filed with color! The circular maude bar was decked out with colorful cocktail stirrers, hand-painted napkins and paneled with specialty fabric!

Without help from all of our wonderful vendors, The Knot Market Mixer wouldn't have been the same! We must thank Aaron Nicholas Photography and Film Anywhere Productions for capturing every unique detail and moment on film! Everything from the gold sparkly table runners to the custom-made hot pink seat cushions, from Connie Duglin, complimented the Moroccan-inspired evening perfectly. Rewined Candles set up next to the registration desk and offered free candles to the first 25 guests to arrive. Meghan and Demi from Pink Dot Beauty Bar offered their makeup expertise via their "smooch bar". Tabbuli set up hookahs at each of our fabulous lounges; with the assistance of "hookahristas", guests enjoyed flavorful hookah and hookah bubble blowing all night long! Wed on Canvas stood by our rockin' band, Charleston Groove Factory, and captured the entire evening in a painting which was auctioned off for charity at the end of the evening. The stunning invitations, bar signs, programs and more were created by The Silver Starfish. Our rental and technical teams deserve a huge shout out too: Snyder Events, Innovative Event Services, and Stage Presence Event & Production Rentals.

The Knot SC Market Mixer

We are so honored to have been chosen as the planner for The Knot's first ever South Carolina Market Mixer! As the offical planner and design team for this event, we chose the first day of Spring for a reason, to host a lush Charleston Garden Party in a downtown Charleston location- Marion's In The French Quarter. The sounds of the string trio from Classical Charleston filled the air while color pops of coral, green and gold were incorporated throughout our decor, custom paper by Wined & Designed,  floral by Wild Flowers Inc. and lighting and lounge by Event Works Rentals.

Squeeze On-Site- The Perfect Dessert Drink

Did you know, Squeeze is a bar downtown also offers their bartending service for private events and weddings? Their business is on our preferred vendor list; "The Luxe List" and after last nights visit to their bar I now know why!

Their impressive and interesting drink list made it difficult to make a decision, but I finally decided on a Chocolate Raspberry Martini.. I think I died and went to chocolate heaven! I would skip dessert every day of the week if I could have one of these instead. It was the perfect mix of white and dark chocolate, creme de cacao and fresh raspberry puree, and as if the taste wasn't enough, the bartender put a lot of time into it making sure the presentation of the drink matched the taste of it, and it sure did! I mean just look at it?!  You need to try this!
