Middleton Place Wedding: Stephanie + Brett

A warm, sunny Saturday afternoon was perfect for Stephanie and Brett’s Middleton Place  wedding. After the couple's intimate first look, wonderfully captured by Dana Cubbage, the ceremony took place in the octagonal garden with the large oak tree and Ashley River as their backdrop. The weather paired perfectly with the couple's light and romantic décor. Pretty in pink, the pavillion was set with gorgeous white and blush blooms and soft draping with mini chandeliers and special bride and groom chairs. The couple loved to travel so as their favor they had a plane shaped bottle opener topping each napkin. The favor was adorned with a tag that read 'let the adventure begin' so cute! This perfectly complimented the couple’s personalities and guests were thrilled as they took their seats for dinner. Following dinner, guests danced under the stars with music provided by Darby Event. We wish Mr. + Mrs. Vlasek love, laughter, and happiness ever after!

Fabulous Friday: rEvent

We love the sense of community that our beautiful Holy City of Charleston encompasses and we love it even more when we get to take part in giving back through our magnificent weddings! rEvent is a Charleston based nonprofit whose mission is to extend the beauty of events in the Charleston area.

Specifically working with the Event industry, rEvent is reducing waste and maximizing re-use through their free of charge service. Instead of throwing away your beautiful floral arrangements at the end of your special day, you, as a donor, can choose from a local list of charitable organizations to donate your gently used wedding day goods. Your wedding details can extend their use that benefits those in need in our community! Your floral arrangements can be picked up on site at the end of the day by rEvent, given a fresh cut and rearranged into bedside bouquets that are hand delivered to your choice of recipient. WOW! Floral arrangements that are not able to be reused are locally composted instead of sending them to landfill. It really doesn't get much better than that.

rEvent is currently delivering repurposed flower bouquetsto MUSC Hospital, MUSC Children's Hospital, Ronald McDonald House of Charleston, and Our Lady Of Mercy. Even better news is, rEvent doesn't just accept floral donations - they are able to redistribute nonperishable event items such as table linens and votives for efficient reuse within the community to affordable housing initiatives and arts programs. Some of the recipients of nonperishable are Habitat for Humanity & Goodwill.

Allow your floral after party to continue, don't let your beautiful florals go to waste! Donate to rEvent and bring a smile to someone else's face! We love this idea, and we cannot wait to use this service with our Brides.

Magnolia Plantation Carriage House Wedding: Stacey + David

David + Stacey's Magnolia Plantation Carriage House wedding was the perfect venue to say "I do".  After getting ready, the couple met downtown for their 'first look' outside the Dock Street Theatre, which was beautifully captured by Dana Cubbage. The Theatre was a special place for the bride who grew up preforming there as a little girl. This romantic, river-front location (along with the very compliant, and stunning weather) provided the perfect backdrop to a stunning Jewish ceremony and reception in front of their closest family and friends. David + Stacey were married under a beautiful hand-made Huppah that was accented with a fabulous florals by Wild Flowers, Inc.  Pink hued blooms filled the table tops with accents of navy and gold with specialty gold sequined runners.  A white birdcage with spilling flowers adorned David + Stacey's sweetheart table. Guests enjoyed signature cocktails by Squeeze named "The Sherfman" that was made up of vodka, grapefruit juice, simple syrup & bitters, and a "Southern Belle" made up of firefly vodka and lemonade. Their signature cocktail was named after their fun wedding social media hashtag, #Sherfman (a combination of both of their last names.) Delicious hors d'oeuvres were made and served by Salthouse catering, while guests mingled and enjoyed the DJ's selection of Sinatra-style music. David + Stacey danced the night away, including a very fun Horah (which was our favorite part of the evening!) The newly weds rode off in style in a Rolls Royce as the new Mr. & Mrs. Shiffman.

Magnolia Plantation Carriage House: Lauren + Andrew

There are so many details about this day that we absolutely adored. Lauren and Andrew are the sweetest couple, who are so head over heels in love with each other. The weather was just perfect! The sunshine and soft breeze from the Ashley River at the Magnolia Plantation Carriage House really set the day off to a beautiful start. Lauren and her bridesmaids enjoyed a relaxed brunch together before slipping into their stunning gold sparkly dresses. Lauren's sweetheart dress was accompanied by the most beautiful cathedral veil passed down from her mom. The bridesmaids wore glamorous gold sequined Badgley Mischka dresses that sparkled so beautifully in the sun (you know we LOVE anything that glitters!) Andrew and his groomsmen wore black Vera Wang tuxes with fun matching socks! Lauren and Andrew said "I Do" in a romantic ceremony by the river front. After, guests mingled during cocktail hour outdoors under cafe lighting with beverages and hors d'oeuvres provided by Squeeze on-site and Salthouse Catering. Lauren selected gorgeous sequined linens, a beautiful white for their head table and stunning rose-gold sequined linens for the cocktail tables. Wild Flowers Inc. created magnificent floral arrangements full of hydrangeas, roses and ranunculus in shades of ivories, whites and blush. One of our favorite details was the sparkling gold champagne bottles that doubled as place settings and favors! Emotional toasts were made by Lauren's Father, her Maid of Honor and Andrew's brother. Guests enjoyed great music from Darby Events and lots of fun and dancing! The beautiful wedding cake and other sweet treats were provided by Twenty Six Divine

Legare-Waring House Wedding: Liz + Kenny

Liz + Kenny's Legare-Waring House wedding was a detailed dream come true for these two LA love birds. Liz and Kenny met via mutual friends in 2011, on the same day her school, UNC, defeated his alma mater, UW, in a heartbreaker game during the March Madness Basketball Tournament. Luckily, she was able to mend his heart over cheap Chinese food and they’ve been together ever since. As a contributor to multiple wedding magazines, Liz had seen it all. She wanted a wedding that truly stood out from the crowd, and wowed her LA guests. Liz loved the idea of a bright and colorful wedding inspired by vibrant fall hues that accented the gorgeous property of the historical Legare Waring House. She had a clear vision for a whimsical wedding with beautiful wildflowers accented with watercolors. Wildflowers ran the lengths of the tables and tall pillar candles were scattered throughout to create a beautiful glow. Everyone could tell where the bride + groom were sitting, with vintage green arm chairs from 428 Main, gold chargers, and floral napkins saving their seats.   As the ceremony began, guests were able to see the stunning bridesmaids in their mismatched neutral gowns that complemented each maid perfectly. Of course, we can't forget the boys! Navy suits made a huge impact against all of the greenery and Kenny stood out with his unique Charleston favorite-Brackish bow tie. All heads turned, as Liz began down the aisle in her Jenny Packham dress. Her father walked with her down the colorfully petaled aisle, and she met Kenny underneath an arbor of wildflowers. After this sweet couple read their vows and did the traditional Jewish breaking of the glass, it was time to celebrate! Liz + Kenny met their other true love at the end of the aisle for some pictures, and their dog Whiskey, could not have been more excited for his parents.  Guests enjoyed small bites and cool cocktails with floral printed straws during this beautiful October night. After everyone had said a few sweet words, it was time for these guests to get a taste of some southern cooking. Salthouse catering provided a delicious station of country fried chicken and mac & cheese. For those foodies in the group, guests also enjoyed grilled fish tacos and a gorgeous best of season display. Liz added a special detail by getting her bar signs, station signs, and hashtag signs hand calligraphied on water color printed paper to match her invitation suite. Once dancing began, Liz changed from her simple flower crown into her "party crown."  Big and bold blooms let the crowd know that it was time to put on their dancing shoes!  Of course the night wouldn't have been complete without celebrating the tradition of the Jewish hoorah! Liz + Kenny departed with their guests to keep the party going in downtown Charleston!

William Aiken House Wedding: Megan + Keith

Megan + Keith's William Aiken House wedding  was nothing short of fabulous! The venue was the perfect setting for this white, black, and gold affair captured by Evan Laettner! Gold dipped roses, white modern lounge sets, black chandeliers, and metallic linens...need we say more!? Megan's bridesmaids looked stunning in their head to tow gold glitter Badgley Mischka gowns. One of our favorite details of the day were the place cards, gold horses labeled with guests names to help find their seat. You can never have too much gold in our opinion and this wedding did it just right!

Lowndes Grove Plantation Wedding: Katrina + Eoin

Despite the 1000 year flood that occurred the weekend of Katrina and Eoin's Lowndes Grove Plantation Wedding, this couple was determined to say "I Do!" Guests and family flew in from all over the globe, including family members from Ireland! The rain took a break for the sweet couple and allowed them to capture their first look photos under the oak tree on the lawn. After a romantic ceremony, guests were invited under the tent to enjoy their cocktails and hor d'oeuvres. The tent was filled with blush pin-tuck and satin linens intermixed among the tables. The sweetheart table stole the show with a blush sequined linen, and floral decorated chair backs. The gorgeous tabletop florals varied in height and sizes and included blush and pink roses, plum hydrangeas, sweet peas, and astilbe with accents of ivory and gold. Origami paper cranes in white, pink, and gold were set on the tables as place cards. Guests signed a jumbo bottle of champagne to give Katrina + Eoin their best wishes. After dinner, dancing was kicked off with Irish sing-a-long's! The bride + groom had picked specific songs and printed lyrics to be passed out to all the guests. PLB could not stop smiling as everyone was on their feet singing along to "Whiskey in the Jar." The dancing continued with the perfect mix of oldies and new hits! Katrina could not wait to change into her fabulous after party dress and finish the night out with a bang! The bride + groom ended the night by recognizing their shared love for the South Carolina Gamecocks. Guests were given rally towels to wave in the air as the fight song, "Sandstorm", played. We were so excited that the weather held out for this wonderful couple!

William Aiken House Wedding: Chelsea + Israel

Chelsea + Israel's William Aiken House Wedding was a gorgeous celebration! Chelsea and her bridesmaids began their day with hair and makeup in the Carriage House Suite at WAH where Paper Dolls glammed up the girls for the big day! The girls wore beautiful silk robes and sipped mimosas all morning long while Israel and the boys got ready on Spring Street in downtown Charleston. When it was time for the couple to meet up for their first look, excitement filled the air at the William Aiken House! Israel's smile was contagious when he first laid eyes on his stunning bride. The bridal party then took photos on the grounds with historic King Street as their background before guests began to arrive! Chelsea +Israel said their "I do's" in an intimate ceremony of sixty guests with Israel's grandfather officiating the ceremony, a very special touch for both the bride + groom. After the ceremony, it was time for cocktails, appetizers, raw bar snacks, dances, and speeches! Chelsea + Israel shared their first dance as husband + wife to "Angel" by Jack Johnson while friends and family looked on happily  at the newlyweds. Once it was time for dinner, guests took their seats upstairs for a plated meal of braised beef short ribs and grouper. The tables were set with navy linens, majestic camel napkins, mahogany chivari chairs, lush pink and white blooms in the centerpieces, floral watercolor menus and place cards, and plenty of candlelight. The upstairs space at WAH served as the perfect spot for an intimate dinner. When it was time to cut the cake, guests were treated to delicious cake and champagne pairings before dancing the night away to the tunes of Rob Duren! The night concluded with everyone singing along to "Closing Time" by Semisonic before they sent the newlyweds off under a neon sparkler departure into downtown Charleston for a romantic rickshaw ride. Wishing nothing but happiness for Chelsea + Israel!

Magnolia Plantation Wedding: Kimberly + Clint

Kimberly + Clint's Magnolia Plantation Wedding was a beautiful, intimate gathering for the happy couple! The bridal party started hair and makeup bright and early with Paper Dolls in the Carriage Suite at Magnolia Plantation, while the groom and his groomsmen got ready together offsite. With rain on the horizon and a desire for pictures on Magnolia's lush grounds, the couple opted for a first look (although not originally planned) and the pictures turned out absolutely gorgeous! We were overjoyed that Kimberly + Clint got the shots they wanted, and it just goes to show that with a little trust, everything will turn out just fine, rain or shine! Following the couple's impromptu first look, the ceremony took place under the oaks with a view of the water as Kimberly + Clint said their vows to each other. Kimberly carried a hand-tied bouquet by Wild Flowers filled with white and green hydrangeas, garden roses, white ranunculus, blush pink lisianthus, and more, plus fabulous pops of bright pink ranunculus. Following the ceremony, Mosaic Catering kicked off cocktail hour with gourmet mimosas in pineapple, orange, and cranberry flavors and bloody marys, complete with celery, pickled vegetables, cracked pepper, bacon swizzles, and a variety of hot sauces. Passed hors d'oeuvres were also served, including chicken dipped waffle bites, yogurt parfaits, and apricot chicken salad. Next, the newlyweds were announced into the reception as "Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Thomas" and they shared their first dance to "At Last" by Etta James. The bride + groom then welcomed their guests to the reception and invited them to enjoy brunch! Brunch stations were set around the room, including His + Hers omelettes, Charleston grits, and an assortment of biscuits. This spread by Mosaic was simply delicious! Tables were adorned with lush centerpieces in rustic wooden boxes and locally made and wrapped pralines as a sweet treat for guests! Rustic-chic lounge was set in the middle of the space in front of Kimberly + Clint's sweetheart table, complete with basket weave chairs for the sweet couple. Ivory drape by Pure Luxe Bride softened the space and tied the design together perfectly. Guests had a wonderful time on the dance-floor dancing to tunes by DJ Rob Duren. At the end of this lovely day, the new Mr. + Mrs. were happily sent on their way with a bubble send off! Thanks so much to Aaron + Jillian for capturing all this pretty!
