William Aiken House Wedding: Megan + Keith

Megan + Keith's William Aiken House wedding  was nothing short of fabulous! The venue was the perfect setting for this white, black, and gold affair captured by Evan Laettner! Gold dipped roses, white modern lounge sets, black chandeliers, and metallic linens...need we say more!? Megan's bridesmaids looked stunning in their head to tow gold glitter Badgley Mischka gowns. One of our favorite details of the day were the place cards, gold horses labeled with guests names to help find their seat. You can never have too much gold in our opinion and this wedding did it just right!

William Aiken House Wedding: Chelsea + Israel

Chelsea + Israel's William Aiken House Wedding was a gorgeous celebration! Chelsea and her bridesmaids began their day with hair and makeup in the Carriage House Suite at WAH where Paper Dolls glammed up the girls for the big day! The girls wore beautiful silk robes and sipped mimosas all morning long while Israel and the boys got ready on Spring Street in downtown Charleston. When it was time for the couple to meet up for their first look, excitement filled the air at the William Aiken House! Israel's smile was contagious when he first laid eyes on his stunning bride. The bridal party then took photos on the grounds with historic King Street as their background before guests began to arrive! Chelsea +Israel said their "I do's" in an intimate ceremony of sixty guests with Israel's grandfather officiating the ceremony, a very special touch for both the bride + groom. After the ceremony, it was time for cocktails, appetizers, raw bar snacks, dances, and speeches! Chelsea + Israel shared their first dance as husband + wife to "Angel" by Jack Johnson while friends and family looked on happily  at the newlyweds. Once it was time for dinner, guests took their seats upstairs for a plated meal of braised beef short ribs and grouper. The tables were set with navy linens, majestic camel napkins, mahogany chivari chairs, lush pink and white blooms in the centerpieces, floral watercolor menus and place cards, and plenty of candlelight. The upstairs space at WAH served as the perfect spot for an intimate dinner. When it was time to cut the cake, guests were treated to delicious cake and champagne pairings before dancing the night away to the tunes of Rob Duren! The night concluded with everyone singing along to "Closing Time" by Semisonic before they sent the newlyweds off under a neon sparkler departure into downtown Charleston for a romantic rickshaw ride. Wishing nothing but happiness for Chelsea + Israel!

William Aiken House Wedding: Vanessa + Josh

The dropping temperature did not stop Vanessa and Josh from having a beautiful winter William Aiken House wedding! This December bride embraced her wedding date and used the cold month to accent her design. The guests were offered apple cider cocktails(alcoholic and non-alcoholic) to stay warm before the ceremony began. The couple said "I Do" in front of the reflecting pool outside the historical William Aiken House. As a special surprise for the Groom, Vanessa arranged butterflies to be released at the end of the ceremony in honor of Josh's mom.

As guests made their way upstairs to enjoy dinner, they were taken aback by the gorgeous sage and blush design that greeted them. Specialty china provided by EventWorks made the table set something to talk about! A sage napkin was wrapped around the plate, and a thank you card created by Vanessa and Josh was placed on top. Vanessa implemented a unique idea of putting the place cards in the fork so that they stood upright. To pull the table together, small arrangements of hydrangeas, garden roses, and  dusty miller provided by Branch were placed in the middle, accompanied by mercury table numbers and votives.

Lounge furniture from Snyder was sprinkled throughout the grounds for the guests who needed to rest their dancing shoes. Grey fabric draping covered the poles throughout the tent, and large floral centerpieces covered every surface.

When guests became tired from all the dancing, they were welcomed to enjoy the Smores that were being made hand made over a fire pit. They also used this time for a picture perfect moment under the large oak tree, where twinkle lights by IES were hanging all around. This sweet couple said their goodbyes and were sent off into the bright nightlife of Charleston. PLB is in love with this cozy winter wedding!

William Aiken House Wedding: Kristy + Zach

Kristy and Zach's William Aiken House wedding was certainly one to remember! Complete with a personal cigar roller, caricature artists for favors, and  late night dessert stations. The ceremony was picturesque, with garden flowers lining the aisle, and greenery draped over the pergola with a chandelier to top it all off. The bridesmaids looked impeccable in various mix- matched metallic dresses, complementing the classic black and white tuxes. A gorgeous tent with lounge and lighting provided by Loluma created the perfect ambiance for the night. After the delicious meal provided by Fish Catering guests came downstairs to dance the night away to the tunes of Charleston Groove Factory. Last but not least, that cake!  We will let the pictures speak for itself on this one, but wow! Sit back and enjoy all the images captured by Amelia and Dan.

William Aiken House Wedding: Megan + Davan

Megan + Davan had a perfect William Aiken House wedding. This venue perfectly complimented their art-deco design and vibrant love for one another. Their wedding was full of eye-catching details, from the bride's elegant Pronovias dress paired with studded Prada heels, to her luscious bouquet filled with rich Anemones. Megan was the center of attention all night long, along with her handsome groom, of course! The groom opted for a classic black tux. They had a stunning clear top tent draped in silver and over sized chandelier that glistened over the dance floor. The lounge area also provided a luxurious space with a bright silver ottoman, surrounded by tufted couches,  rich floral arrangements, and candlelight. These special details made for an elegant and intimate reception where friends and family danced the night away. In true southern form, Megan + Davan were sent off by their guests through an archway of sparklers into Downtown Charleston on a romantic rickshaw ride!  It was truly a wedding to remember. William Aiken House Wedding: Erin + Gibb

We are still swooning over Erin + Gibb's glam wedding at the William Aiken House! These South Carolina natives chose downtown Charleston to host their dream wedding, and it was truly a day to remember. After getting ready at IOP, The couple met at William Aiken House for their first look where Gibb could not take his eyes off of Erin! As guests began to arrive for the ceremony, the wedding party was tucked away for last minute laughs and sips before Erin's father walked her down the aisle to the sounds of Seth G playing "A Thousand Years". Erin's lush bouquet by Branch was full of white patience garden roses, blush Japanese ranunculus, white sweet peas, jasmine vine, all tied together with an ivory ribbon. Cocktail hour began shortly post-ceremony with drinks and passed hors d'oeuvres of pear & almond brie, duck confit, bacon wrapped scallops, and tuna tartar.  Happy tears then filled the room when Erin and her father danced to "My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw, and Gibb and his mother to "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts. Following dances, stations were open and ready for guests to enjoy!  Guests tables were decorated with tall, fluted glass vases full of lush white larkspur, stemmed candleholders with floating candles, and textural gold mercury glass. After guests enjoyed dinner, it was time to cut the cake, drink champagne, and dance! This red velvet and lemon cake was in beautiful shades of pink, gold, and ivory, tying in the wedding colors. Then, it was time to dance Quiana Parler's and friends! Special details included custom pink and taupe cozies for drinks, a wedding piñata guest book, "Drunk on Love" cocktail napkins with gold foilg,  and light-up sunglasses and glow sticks for late night! The couple was then sent off via rickshaw through a sparkler departure into downtown Charleston!

Fabulous Friday: Venue Spotlight on William Aiken House

The William Aiken house, built in 1807, sits perfectly in the historic district of Downtown Charleston, on King Street. This quaint, yet large home represents Charleston's rich history, as it is associated with Charleston's original Railroad Association. Together, the district was dubbed a National Historic Landmark in 1963. Today, the William Aiken House serves as a wonderfully romantic, yet urban alternative to tie the knot. With intimate outdoor space to dance the night away, and second-floor dining space, this venue sure gives guests a unique perspective of Charleston that cannot be replicated!

William Aiken House Wedding: Lisa + Scott

Lisa + Scott tied the knot in December at their William Aiken House wedding creating a classic, elegant feel with colors of navy and ivory. The couple wanted to make sure they commemorated  their families on this special day by setting up a table where guests had the chance to see old wedding photos of loved ones. Lisa's bouquet was full of Garden Roses, Ranunculus and small touches of Brunia Berries and Dusty Miller- it was the perfect winter bouquet by Wild Flowers.  The tablescape was full of glass lanterns, blooms, and candles for an intimate post-wedding dinner. Navy napkins were delicately placed at every chair with a personalized menu card, showing a loving message from the couple on the front and the dinner menu on the back.  As dinner concluded, guests headed downstairs for a delicious cake and dancing!  The lounge area was set up with gorgeous white studded couches, complete with "Mr. and Mrs." pillows. Lisa + Scott were sent on their way into downtown Charleston, and their family and friends departed with a sweet treat to save for later! Thanks to Aaron and Jillian for capturing all the pretty!

William Aiken House looked even more beautiful than we could've imagined on this stunning Saturday last April for Ivonne + Randy's English, Gothic inspired wedding!

Ivonne and Randy gradually arrived with their bridal party, dressed and ready for the day ahead, as family members slowly flooded in for photos. Before the family photos began, Ivonne + Randy enjoyed one of the most romantic first looks we've ever seen. Photographer Reese Moore did a beautiful job at capturing the couple in those intimate first moments of seeing one another. Ivonne couldn't stop smiling! Randy fell in love all over again when he saw her in her stunning Modern Trousseau gown.

Following some exceptional photos of the classic black + white bridal party, it was time for the ceremony! Instead of "Cannon" by Zox playing as the bridal party made their way down the aisle, Ivonne surprised her future husband with a bagpiper to play the rest of the processional. Randy, beaming from the moment the bagpiper began to the very end of the ceremony, loved his surprise! The ceremony took place on the carriage lot of The William Aiken House, where Ivonne + Randy's closest family and friends witnessed them exchange vows and agree to spend the rest of their lives loving one another.

Cocktail hour began as guests made their way to the second floor of the William Aiken House for a raw bar, hors d'oeuvres and cocktails. As the hour came to a close, all of the guests were invited to make their way to the upstairs porch to watch the couple's first dance. You cannot beat the gorgeous sunlight from their first dance, it truly was picture perfect!

Janice + Mark's  William Aiken House wedding was a night to remember! Jennifer Bearden knocked this one out of the park, capturing every detail of the day beautifully! The bride + groom said "I Do" under a crystal chandelier with an ombre petals lining the aisle.  Of course its not a Pure Luxe wedding without a little glitz and glam and these dinner tables were done right! Gold trumpet vases filled with mounds of hydrangeas and peach roses by Loluma, candlelight,  and gold utensils to pull it all together!
