Magnolia Plantation Wedding: Kerri + Lee

We've been keeping this gorgeous wedding under wraps for months, but now that the latest issue of Southern Bride Magazine featuring Kerri + Lee has launched, we can share with you! Pick up your copy today to see more of this incredible wedding.
Nothing could have said “glam” more than Kerri + Lee's gorgeous wedding at Magnolia Plantation last September. The couple said, “I do” under a beautiful handmade arch of flowers - the perfect back drop for the ceremony. The aisle ways were donned with elements of ivory, blush, and plenty of gold (our fav!). Their vows were sealed when the bride and groom whispered special words to one another before they were announced as husband and wife. This gorgeous affair was captured by Sean Flanigan, just take a moment to let these pictures set in! These photos truly take our breath away.
kerri_lee_BLOG1042This Pure Luxe Bride looked absolutely stunning in her Romona Keveza wedding dress, accented by a sparkling belt and headband by Maria Elena. The bridesmaids wore baby pink to go with the wonderful color palette. We just love this bouquet shot, how adorable!

Inside the carriage house, the room was filled with soft colors giving a true romantic feel. This crafty bride also made a DIY linen for the bar with the couples new monogram on it that really made the room pop. Nothing could outshine the sparkle of this wedding!

Everyone enjoyed the delicious stations that Mosaic was offering during the reception, especially the variety of desserts that accompanied the incredible cake!

The band, Midnight City, had everyone on their feet and dancing the night away! Their smiles seemed to grow even bigger throughout the night, and the newlyweds said goodbye to friends and family with a sparkler send-off to congratulate them on their big day!

Pure Luxe Planning Tip: Beat the Heat!

The weather is just a small part of why people flock to experience all that Charleston has to offer and makes it possible to have a beautiful wedding in almost every season. However, in peak wedding season Charleston holds true to its southern roots and heat and humidity are definitely present through this time of the year. However, don’t let the heat get you down, because it can easily be overcome. With spring and summer just around the corner, here are a few Pure Luxe tips to keep your guests cool and comfortable!

Don’t let a buggy night keep your guests from enjoying your outdoor dance floor or lounge area. A local company will come out and spray or install a system before you and your guests arrive to make sure mosquitos and other pests stay far away from your special day. There are multiple options to fit the size and needs of your event.

King of pops is certainly a crowd favorite! On a warm summer evening these popsicles are the perfect trick to cool down your guests. They have seasonal flavors to go with any time of the year and make for the cutest pictures!

Even when the sun goes down, Charleston is known for its temperate climate. This problem is an easy fix at any ceremony or reception by using misting fans. Tented or open, fans make sure everyone is cool and happy, without getting them wet!

Another great way to cool down your guests is to provide a "hydration station". Welcome your guests to your event with passed trays of cucumber ice water and sweat tea before the ceremony. Or have a station set up during your reception with flavored water and cooled ice toilettes to make sure they stay hydrated all night long.

One of the easiest things you can do is simply provide shade for your guests. In the hot months you would never guess how much a nice shaded spot is appreciated. We love the way this bride incorporate large umbrellas during her ceremony to shade her guests so they could truly enjoy the I Do's. Their guests were happy and look how cute it looks in pictures!

Lastly, consider the heat when choosing your menu options. Opt for lighter appetizers or small bites instead of the heavier alternatives. Watermelon gazpacho or a raw bar complete with oysters are always great in the summertime!

Magnolia Plantation Wedding: Meghan + Chuck

Has Magnolia Plantation ever looked so beautiful?! For Pure Luxe bride and groom Meghan + Chuck,  our team worked long and hard to transform this venue into a vintage, romantic, and rustic inspired venue. The finished design looked amazing and we loved the pink and peach color scheme combined with rustic elements like farm tables and mason jars!

The Bride and Groom chose to do a "First Look" on one of Magnolia Plantation's popular bridges: we just LOVE a first look!

For dinner, guests were in for a real treat. Mosaic was the caterer of choice and as usual, they provided guests with an assortment of delicious southern treats and classic favorites. Among the food stations set up, guests could chose from options such as: shrimp and grits, a taco bar, beef, shrimp, mahi mahi, chicken slides, and crabcakes. What delicious choices!

Who doesn’t love gourmet cupcakes?! Thanks to Sugar Bakeshop, guests enjoyed cupcakes of various flavors including: lemon, chocolate, caramel, yellow cake, and double chocolate. In addition to cupcakes, cinnamon and mixed berry tarts were served. Sugar Bakeshop, one of our Luxe List vendors, created a beautiful arrangement of these sweet treats that tasted just as amazing as they looked!

Following dinner, guests had the option of enjoying s’mores outside by the fire pit. These chocolate deserts are always popular, and are enjoyed even more by a stone fire pit beneath the stars.

Meghan and Chuck’s Carriage House wedding can be described as rustic and natural. The couple used many unique elements and small details to create a personalized and beautifully decorated venue. Items such as burlap table runners placed on the middle of dark, long wood tables accented the rustic theme. On the square tables, beautiful vintage lace linens were used. White and light pink flowers, created by Wild Flowers, decorated the venue and tied together the rustic, natural, and vintage feel of the decor.

Not only did guests leave Meghan and Chuck’s celebration with smiles on their faces and great memories, but they also left with some sweet treats from the dessert table. As wedding favors, each guests was able to fill a custom paper bag with sweets such as M&M’s, swedish fish, jelly bellys, and chocolate pretzels. After a night of dancing and celebrating, these candy treats were the perfect late night snack.

Upon departure, Meghan and Chuck enjoyed a sparkler exit as they climbed into a white, stretch limo. Not only did guests have a blast celebrating this fun couple, but tons of memories were made at this exciting celebration. It was a pleasure working and getting to know this amazing couple!
