Lauren and Dante met at The College of Charleston, and one New Years Eve morning, Dante popped the question in The Cistern Yard! Lauren always walked by William Aiken House with dreams of one day getting married there, so selecting the destination and venue was an easy decision for them! From gold accents to pearly white radiance, this was a classic love story come to life. A palette of white, gold, and hints of sage with bounties of of white roses, hydrangeas, and gorgeous chandeliers. Lauren wore a Sareh Nouri dress with a beautiful bow detail on the back, and changed into a stunning beaded dress for the reception so she could dance all night long! The couple went back to The Cistern where they first met and where the groom proposed for their first portraits and moments as husband and wife. Browse all the pretty photos by Marni below!
We know how difficult it can be to choose who will be in your wedding party but still wanting to honor those special people in your life. To make sure no one is left out, we’ve come up with some ideas to include those not in the party on your special day! There are still many roles that need to be filled in order to have a successful day!
1. Reserve one-two rows at the front of the ceremony for close friends and family. Being closer to you will make them feel valuable and loved.
2. See if they would be willing to help greet your guests or usher guests to their seats.
3. Another way to involve your loved ones is by asking them to have a speaking part during the ceremony! If there are scriptures, see if they would be willing to read a passage for you. If they are musically inclined, ask them to play or sing a song.
4. If someone special in your life has children, ask for them to be a flower girl or ring bearer.
5. Ask them to give a speech at the rehearsal dinner or wedding.
6. Include special guests in a family photo list to honor your relationship and make them feel important.
Regardless of where they sit, or what role they play, remember that everyone is here because they love you. And while it may be tough choosing who is in your party, there are ways to include all of those close friends and family! Today is your day and your guests are there for you, so don’t stress about a part for everyone, being a guest is an honor in itself!

Megan + Reid were from New York and decided to host their summer wedding in Charleston at The Cedar Room. Beyond providing a safe haven from the rain’s unpredictability, the venue lies in history, featuring original wood columns and hardwood floors from the notable 1881 Cigar Factory. The urban venue complimented the wedding’s modern, chic, and clean design style. Following cocktail hour in the courtyard, guests were invited indoors for a reception—think tall, dramatic tree-like arrangements of branches and dark green foliage on the tables with gray, black , and gold accents. The head table featured planters overflowing with traditional ivory and white florals and foliage, and the gold candlestick holders with black tapers. Megan+Reid treated their guests to a late night happy hour of cinnamon sugar donut holes, cheeseburger sliders, and fries!

By now I’m sure you’ve come across those beautiful photos on Instagram and Pinterest of a bride and groom posing in front of a vintage car..we’re here to tell you how to make that happen! Pro tip: While it is nice to have a getaway car to leave in at the end of the night, the best portraits with the car happen in daylight! With that being said, we always suggest renting the vehicle as a prop during the day! You can have it take you from your getting ready location to the venue, use it for your first look, drive up to the ceremony, or on the way to the reception. The options for cars are endless, you can opt for a family car, vintage, classic, or there is always the horse and carriage for a true fairy tale. There are so many different ways you can incorporate cars into your wedding photos and we’ve compiled some of our favorite day time photos below!

We love incorporating your wedding crest into the overall design! If you are wondering what a wedding crest or monogram is…it is a unique symbol that represents the wedding day and your new initials together. General rule of thumb, either use all 3 initials or simply use the last name initial. It can use colors or embellishments that are a part of your wedding day style. It is a great opportunity to tie together all of the decor and keepsakes and add a personal touch. The options are endless, below are some different ways to show it off!
